well the problem is not whether it existed or not or was from a reliable source or not, but whether it was the most recognized theory or not.

look at the wiki link I gave you. asteroid-crash is only cited last. there are many many theories.

Yep, after doing some googling I completely agree that the collision theory is still the most probable.
Just remembered reading about some new evidence that disagreed and thought it might be of interest, there are still a few discrepancies with the theory (as with almost any theory).

Anyway, back on topic; this would be interesting to have in PA, but frankly it sounds pretty resource intensive and I doubt it'll make it in for release. The idea of new asteroids being formed from major impacts is awesome though.

I think it definitely has the time to make it into final.

I mean, the one key element to this game has to be spectacular does it not?
