Planetary Annihilation 2D?

Yeah, never liked that pseudo RTS stuff.

The developer for star drive is just 1 dude from what I hear, so can't really gripe about lack of features. Good idea none the less. Just needs some modders to take what he starts and run with it Programmers aren't' graphic designers or particularly great story writers generally so I'm not surprised it's lacking in content. The days where a John Carmack and pump out a Doom are behind us I'm afraid.
