Thought I replied to this post, but I guess not. I think everyone was pretty much saying what I thought so I just voted and kept quiet.

Variety is the spice of life as they say. I think it's a good idea. Having the option there would be a great way of restricting game play to preference. Even if it was only in 1v1 matches. Admittedly it might be harder to implement in GW mode but it's still at least feasible. I think it would add a different flavour to the game if used occasionally. In the end it's something I believe a modder could do quite easily if it wasn't in the final release.

I didn't say anything offensive, I am just suggesting that restricting air on certain planet types can enrich the strategy. Certain players, I think, you as well, since you took offence, really like air units. My personal opinion is that restricting air in some occasions, forces players to think better about their strategy and try different things once in a while.

This is not about balance in the first place, I am confident it can be balanced without these restrictions as well, I just think it might be an interesting design choice to restrict or make some types of units less effective depending on the environment.

My biggest issue with restricting air on certain planets is that *if* you have land and navel, I'm not sure that they are balanced against each other, as I feel navel units are so much more robust and long range, they can't be touched by land units. I will admit I could be wrong about this.
