Planet editor: planets have a height map so ...

    I am no programmer and the like, but could a units height from the standard (sea level) just give it more range? Or would that cause problems?

    And what of lasers? Would range even be much of a factor then other for balance problems due to the direct fire nature of its projectile?

    That's not exactly logical. If unit stands on the slope it should (theoretically) be able so shoot downhill further than uphill.
    I'm not sure, however, if height should affect units at all.

    That kind of micromanagement is probably not within the scope of the game, even if there was a magical equation that Uber could use.
