A ping of 200 means it takes 200ms (1/5 of a second) for a signal to travel from your machine to the server and back. Jitter shows how unstable your ping is. High ping means you will lag during the whole match while high jitter only leads to spikes. So instead of lagging constantly you might experience a lag spike every couple of seconds. If both your ping and jitter is high then you are in for a treat...

And then there is packet loss. Data on the internet is split up into packets before it is send on its way and 'reassembled' when it arrives. Packet loss means a part of your data just never arrives at the server or the other way around. You might know that from VoIP when somebody is breaking up and all you hear is garbled pieces of what he says. IIRC those data is just lost if you use UDP. So a high percentage of packet loss can lead to all kinds of problems when you are gaming or using voice chat.

Up and down speed shouldn't be much of an issue unless you are host. I don't know how much bandwidth MNC needs but it shouldn't be much. You might run into problems when you try to play strategy games with a p2p net structure and lots of units though.

My packet loss is ridiculous, Jessep. Speedtests stutterstep for like 30 seconds trying to get an actual reading.

THIS IS NOT A TROLL ATTEMPT. Jay, I kind of feel like I do need to say that because I get attacked before people can even process the point that I was trying to make. It always turns in to a flame war when I say anything that is out of the norm. Yes, I am guilty of trolling people, no matter if I was trolling for good reasons, I admit that I did target people in order to get a rise out of some; it is actually the literal definition of trolling. I will tell you about friends that had their lives destroyed and were actually targeted in real life by trolls that take things too far. I am simply trying to make a peaceful stand against those who find hurtful trolling funny. Why can we not all have our opinions on how to play this game, that all of us love so much? Why can I not show people other tactics and ways to play this game? I am no less significant than anyone here, I have been playing this game since day 1 and I am no stranger to teamwork, as it is unstoppable. Want to know my history and why I dislike people that think there is only one way to play, check my history on Star Wars Battlefront. People told us that our team was trash and we did not know what we were doing, playing the classes that we were. In the end, users were begging for mercy from the clan RER(Red Eye Republic), we utterly destroyed teams that thought they knew anything about us, and they had one hundred excuses why we suck. The moral of this story: I think outside the box and always come with awesome strategies, I think, I try to show others different ways to win, I am trolled for that, yes, i am not a stranger to people hating me because I think and come with new tactics every day. Me, a guy who mains Sniper while playing with massive lag knows everything about hit detection.

I played Sniper on a PM on Chaos' host and god it was frustrating.

I'm sure I popped Chaos' big Gunner head a lot of times but the hit detection was so awful that my shots didn't even do any damage. (Not even a F'N bodyshot!)

Anyways, I'm just here to promote my favorite animes.
