It treats players/Streamers as if they're trying to exploit the stream, it assumes they're using it with bad intentions. It's similar to treating players like pirates by using DRM in my opinion.

Automation never works in these kinds of situations.

Twitch being shut-down for copyright infringement because the RIAA fondles more money in it's sleep than you or I could accrue in a lifetime is also draconian.

Deal with the lesser evil, yo.

Twitch is covering itself. The result of this is that streams are negatively-affected by the measures put in place. But without it, it's entirely likely that Twitch would get sued out of existence.

I understand that but that doesn't solve the issue.

What would solve the issue is a complete overhaul of copyright laws.

Sure, but don't blame Twitch for that. Blaming Twitch for this isn't going to get the issue you've highlighted fixed, is it?

No but it does highlight the issue.

All it does it give Twitch negative attention unnecessarily, because it isn't even their fault. In the slightest. Not at all. You're blaming them for someone elses' problem.

The RIAA won't even care if Twitch gets a bad name. Because it doesn't affect them.

This is why I told you (well, squishy, but you too :p) to get some perspective on the problem.

I'm not saying blame Twitch. I'm saying cite Twitch.

"Hey guys, these copyright laws are looking pretty silly these days. For example... those streamers on Twitch are getting muted just because they're playing a game that happens to have a soundtrack. Crazy amirite?".

I said "blaming Twitch doesn't fix the problem".

You said "no but it does highlight the issue".

Ergo, "blaming Twitch doesn't fix the problem but it highlights the issue".

You were saying blame Twitch. If you didn't mean that, man, be clear about it at least. Don't just backtrack in order to save some kind of face (it's a forum thread, silly! :p).
