I'd assume they will prove you wrong and you should be able to load a game and add the the necessary number of players and continue playing.

I'm assuming they won't, because multiplayer saves are niche feature and many more important things need to be done first.

Luckily Uber realizes that saves are not a niche feature ;)

    offline saves aren't
online multiplayer saves are very much a niche feature, and since 90% of games were logged as single player, and since most of the remaining players who play multiplayer are never going to use these saves, we can conclude that it is a niche feature.

I doubt there is any technical difficulty in allowing multiplayer saves once you have singleplayer saves, considering how PA is build. So the extra work is small compared to the payoff, especially if you consider chronocam "oh look let's replay that replay"-savegames

The problem is that (duh) only the server can save games. Randomly generated planets have to be saved with the game state, that's a lot of space that has to be taken up, and it would very rapidly clog Uber's servers. Resumable replays are viable, multiplayer saves are not.

Actually the replays already contain the majority of the data needed.
Not to mention that we really need a way to get our hands on our own replay files anyway. Allowing a download of an already existing file at the end of the game should not be that much work as well.

How incredibly self centered. "We" don't want the save feature? Speak for yourself. If you don't mind, I would like the save feature because I do not lose interest in games I've started and I do, occasionally need to reboot my PC and can't do that if PA is running.

Stop going into this kind of aggressive stuff. We all by now know that you think computers do not have a button to shut them down and that electricity is free whereever you are.

You don't need to shut them down, and most people here can afford to keep their computer asleep overnight.

Just because you can afford wasting energy you should not do it.

I can waste more energy by keeping my ceiling fan on all night.

I don't leave my pc on and indeed avoid turning it on if I don't need it, because I like to try and save energy. People like this should be able to save.

There actually is a much better reason for save/load: It allows players to retry. You can't rewrite history with a pause function. With savegames you can.

you don't need to retry because there's nothing to retry, you can already retry GW by alt-f4ing

Which is technically a bug by the way.

save games would be classified as a bug too, by that logic.
