I actually read Wazupwiop's guide, and learned a LOT from it. But even after I read it, (including the very first game, when the guide was fresh in my mind) I didn't play exactly as the guide said. I pretty much followed the structure of it. Meaning that I followed the buy order, the upgrades, turret placement, and the Longshot strategy. That was pretty much about it.

Also, it's pretty hard to memorize a whole guide, and then replace your way of playing beforehand with the guide. It's like being told that it's better to type with very fast and strong hits to the keyboard with just your pinky finger. Replacing all of your old ways of typing with that new, completely useless way of typing... unless if you want to build your pinky muscle, I guess...

Use your pinky when typing. It's much faster.

The reason armor is the most used endorsement is that it is the most widely applicable way to help a class pursue the objective. To win a game, you have to push forward with your bots and actually take the moneyball down. When the crucial moment comes, any class should be willing to rush in and protect the bots by whatever means necessary. Armor helps EVERY class do this.

Then you have the obvious benefits. You're much stronger in 1v1 fights and you avoid needless oneshot kills (bombs, charges, face grapples, etc), not to mention the bot fire that comes up at the most annoying times.

It's very hard to argue against armor.

I know I probably sound like a total idiot trying to explain this, but hey... I'm trying.

Let's say that there's a Support. He has RoF, Skill, and Armor. In that order.
Now let's say that there's a Tank. He has Armor, RoF, and Accuracy.

Now let's pretend that the Support set up a Firebase in Mid behind a wall, in front of an enemy bot lane. Due to his silver skill, he can set up and hack that turret just a little bit quicker. Let's say that the Support finishes building his Firebase just in time for the Tank to walk by on the bot lane, trying to reach the Support's Moneyball. Clearly, he doesn't see the Firebase and keeps moving along. Obviously, the Firebase starts shooting at him. That takes down probably about 1/3rd to half of the Tank's health. On top of that, the Support can move right up to the Tank and shoot him once or twice with his Shotgun, and the Tank is down. Thus, giving the Support's team an opening to go down that bot lane with no trouble, and then take over mid. This has happened to me countless times, though I honestly don't know if anyone else can think of this happening to them.

Anyways, that's just an idea. I'm sure there's a flaw or six in there.

Support is one of the classes that doesn't require gold or silver armor. This is because of his specific roles and dependency on skills, along with fast health recovery and a slight health boost from passive 3. However, with random teammates, armor will probably help you just as much as high skill recovery, assuming you are intelligent about where you put your firebase and you are selective with your airstrikes. I would put RoF as gold or silver because it also helps with the heal gun, freeing you just a little quicker to help with everything else that needs done.

Actually, it's pretty good. It's a perfect illustration of how, depending on your playstyle, other Endorsements can be more important than Armor.

Classes that don't need gold armor:
    Support, Tank and Gunner

    Classes that need gold armor:
    Assault, Assassin and Sniper

Classes that should have at least bronze armor:
    Gunner, Support

Don't believe me? Ask Xeno how our scrim went. He didn't use gold armor assault, subsequently he spent the majority of the games retreating/giving up ground. Xeno, you're a great player, but you went into the match with the wrong mindset.

Seems right to me. Armor is important, and almost every class needs it on their list somewhere, but it doesn't have to be Gold.

I feel the best support set-up is Skill/Rof/armor, when my guide comes out it will show why this works.

Made a custom class for it, I'm gonna test it out in a second. :s

I've been running Rate/Skill/Armor for my support ever since the Spunky update. Like someone else said, gold RoF is crucial for the support after he was nerfed. Otherwise, you won't be able to support your team all that well since you won't be able to heal them quickly enough. I've tried using other endorsements for bronze, but not surviving front grapples can get frustrating. Nothing beats surviving a grapple and then blasting that sin all over her stupid face.

Not true. It'd be nice to be able to take more hits from another assault running gold RoF, but it's not a necessity. I personally have been running with Skills, RoF, and Accuracy for about 2 or 3 months now and I've been doing just fine. Except with a team full of gunners, but that's unrelated.

Totally agreed. I usually heal my teammates when they walk by until they're fully healed, so if they're healed quicker, that's even better. Then I can get back to whatever it was that I was doing.

Also, front grapples are ANNOYING. I'm glad that I have bronze armor on all the time. Even though I usually have about minuscule health, I can still backpeddle, jump, bob and weave, and so on, while shooting the assassin with 2 shots and she's down. The only time this hasn't worked for me is when the assassin ends up smoke bombing away.

Sorry about that. I meant anyone who doesn't run armor at all is dumb. I didn't mean to sound like I meant Gold Armor.

Even then, the statement is too broad to be entirely true. As I've said before, your playstyle is the key factor in determining which Endorsements you need. LeoV1993 has already stated that he doesn't find Armor necessary at all when playing Assault. I know other players who don't run Armor at all for Support, or Assassin, and one or two who don't use it for Sniper, Gunner, or Tank. Their playstyle is such that they don't need it.

    It all comes down to this;

If your playing pubs vs randys, then no armor is fine.

If your playing against better competition, armor is a must.

...That's kind of an ignorant statement.
