As an Assault, I spend a lot of time duking it out with Assassins.

You guys are NOT as invisible as you think. There is a very slight shimmer when you move, and against certain backgrounds it's fairly easy to figure out where you are. It's no skin off my nose to lay down a clip in your general direction in case you're there.

I'm guessing the Snipers are doing something similar, extrapolating where you are, and then laying in a shot just in case they are right. After all, if they miss it doesn't hurt them at all...
