Each unit has a speed of X, a range of X, etc.

Example, the Ant, er, Pounder, has a range of 100 and a speed of 7.

Anyone know what the unit of measurement is?

Is that a range of 100 meters? 100 inches? 100 miles? 7 feet per second? 7 km per second?

Even though it doesn't really matter, it'd be kinda fun to have a reference.

    I'm guessing meters.

Anyone know? Or anyone from Uber enlighten us?

It could be a metre. The dev's have mentioned maps in square kilometres before so a metric system would be a good guess.

Even if we know what the unit is how far is a it on the map anyway?

    Well that was anticlimatic.

I was expecting more of a 5 page thread and a massive WTF ITS IN METERS from a dev before the thread exploded from recursive ideas and strange references.

If that is in meters those are some impressively short range units.

if those are in km, those are impressively long range units.

I'm guessing km personally, a tank only having 100 meters range? dammit a BB gun can do better than that. This is the future after all, where the laws of realism have been replaced by the laws of awesome.

Assuming it was meant to be realistic.....which it isn't.

Let's make some assumptions here. The units are measured in meters and the planets are measured in kilometers. Assuming all that speed is in km/h.

I figured it was in meters.

Thank you very much for confirming!

First off, they do use metric in US.

Second off, how is a galactic game marketed to the world and apparently heavily in the UK, Germany, Australia, and Asia, a US game?

Lastly, customary makes no sense whatsoever. How many cups are in a quart? There are 1000 milliliters in a liter. How many inches are in a yard? 100 centimeter in a meter. How many ounces in a ton? 1000 grams in a kilogram.

What temperature does water freeze and boil in Fahrenheit? 0 and 100 degrees Celsius. What temperature does paper burn in Fahrenheit? According to this, your guess is as good as mine...

And yes, oddly enough, I do reside in the United States, and am still making this argument. I not just going to go 'merica over this assertion.

Are we seriously going to have the metric vs imperial debate here?
