Thanks for the cast, brian. You need to remember to update your title card I was trying to rampage through his rear with sniper bots, except they were combat fabbers too (which is why those bots stopped, I think I tried to issue an attack command and didn't notice that nothing happened). I don't think I had a combat unit on the field! Reclaiming the Vanguards was all I could do at that point. You're right though, I was dead because I wasted my early eco advantage in stalling on my T2 factory. Another biggie was not handling his air properly. It's a mistake I repeat in game five as we shall see soon But you know what was the most frustrating bit? At 6:13 (about 6:44 game time) I stop my bots while I wait for the reinforcements. Argh! If they'd pushed in I might have scored three fabber kills! Damnit! You may be right about the navy, but it would be a really risky move with both the scope of radar, and the way you cannot tell if your bot fabber will actually build the naval factory until it reaches it in the queue. By the time I could threaten his coast he could probably just gunshipped the navy. Nahwals suck.
Lots and lots of "what ifs" in gameplay. Hindsight is 20/20. Hopefully these videos will help improve your future gameplay.
Like Stuart98, I also encountered some lag during the third round. Really can't agree with him on T2 air though. It used to be true but I don't think it is anymore. T2 air factory and all T2 air was made more expensive, while at the same time T1 AA was made more effective through damage and/or range boosts. Stuart has pretty much no AA in his base and so taxman was free to do whatever he wanted.
New match. Training with @mered4 for the Battle of the Beasts tournament. This was one of my favorite training matches. Lots of fun.
Just a note on why Custard didn't planet smash: you can't use a smash on a planet that is itself smashable, and since Custard was ahead on the main planet, it was better just to use the moon as an econ source. I'm assuming this was implemented to prevent the weirdness of two smashable planets targeting each other.
