The rate of casts that you're uploading has dropped massively as of late. Is there a reason for this?
He was on vacation last week. He has also been shifting from casting into other areas of community involvement, like the newsletter, forum recap, playtest recaps, etc. I think this is a great change because there are plenty of casters and not a lot of people doing the other things. It still is nice to see the videos too though.
Yeah. There's a few reasons. Main two reasons are that I've been busy and that PA hasn't been performing well for me. People don't like watching casts with tons of lag. I've been busy with going on a ski trip, work, the weekly newsletter, social life, and stuff. I've also been working on adding functionality to I'm really hoping that I can start casting and playing regularly again after this next path improves the performance.
I know my game was amazing, but linking it twice? Everyone should watch the Reaper/godde game just to listen to poor brian suffer as he tries to remember two whole names
oh shut up. lol Casting several matches in rapid succession... they start to run together especially when players use the same colors. Thanks for catching that. Accidental wrong copy paste.
Please stop editing out the first few minutes of play. Not only do I want to see it, but it's discouraging for newer players who feel they're missing some of the most important moments of the game.
I get requests both ways. Some people like that the first few minutes are gone, some people want them back. I have to find the middle ground to appease the majority. What I try and do is change it up. Sometimes I start at the beginning and sometimes I start a few minutes in. When I used to play myself, I would start at the beginning of my videos and would start a few minutes in for the commentary. But I haven't been playing much lately. :-/ For some of my upcoming videos I'll change it up.
People who don't like the opening minutes can skip them, but if you edit them out people who like them can't see them. One way provides the means to please both audiences and one doesn't.
The opening minutes are pretty important now, because a lot can happen. An interesting opening is to go air first and bomb their fabbers before they can expand. As long as you get enough fabbers to not fall behind (because of the eco you sacrificed to try this) it will be worth it. It's a very micro intensive opening and I wouldn't want to miss it if someone tried it but the cast started three minutes in.
Like I said, I've received requests from people to skip the opening and not skip the opening. I'll experiment with my future casts. My latest one starts from the beginning.
You should drop your settings more to get smoother play. I also think you need to keep it zoomed out a touch more (but appreciate your spending so much time zoomed out unlike some casters who zoom in way too much) so you can see the top and bottom of the globe, that would also help you spot more of the raiding or wide attacks that are going on. Good cast though, thanks. I'm depressed to think what's coming next
There's nothing left to drop them down settings wise. Unfortunately PA used to be smoother, but these latest builds have dropped it back down. I'll have a new computer within the month. I actually have been purposefully dooming in so you can't quite see the top and bottom of the globe. That means there's more of the planet in view and less space in view, which doesn't really help.
