New Match: http://pamatches.com/2013/3v3-with-over-24-interplanetary-nukes-fired/ 3v3 with over 24 Interplanetary Nukes Fired This match was insane. SO MANY NUKES.
I finally played a match the other day, and I was eventually pushed off the main planet onto the only other smaller planet in the system. I proceeded to spam nukes, thinking I could snipe the opposing comm, only to realise about 6 nuke launchers/nukes in that I wasn't on an orbiting moon....I conceded.
meh, I have only had a few actual online games of PA yet, so it was a learning experience in many ways. Namely, I find multitasking harder in practice than theory. Did you find the same level of "being overwhelmed" in the first few games you played? As in, trying to spread out and manage proxy bases, main base, raiding etc. I think I was trying to do too much, too soon, in terms of my level of play LOL
I think that's the challenge with any RTS, spending your attention span wisely. Many of the tasks will become muscle memory as you play, and you'll become better at identifying where your time should be spent and what you will almost mentally automate.
Yes. Multi-tasking is a huge challenge. I struggled with that for some time – still do. If you watch some of my earlier casts it's very apparent as my late game suffers majorly. I don't expand and I neglect many important tasks. Watching lots of casts can prepare you for many components of PA – except the multi tasking.
New Match: http://pamatches.com/2013/1v1-with-...infrabasse-with-commentary-from-brianpurkiss/ 1v1 with Planet Smashing Starring Grep & Infrabasse with Commentary from brianpurkiss
Heh. They weren't really in a position to mount a successful attack for some time due to the power of defensive structure. I enjoyed it.
That was the weirdest match I've seen from both players. Both initially did not harass, and they both were reserved when they started making moves. I mean, WTF! Grep didnt go Adv until almost 25 min, and he risked his first nuck right next to infra's base! Had Infra scouted and seen the comm....man. That would have been much quicker and less agonizing. lol Mistakes I saw: Neither side scouted properly at any point in the game. Neither side set up a proxy base that they actually used to good affect. (Greps base right next to infra's main base really wasnt as effective as it could have been. Some adv naval could have wiped infra off the map, no problem. some levelers could have wiped him too. But instead he turtles an expansion base - whaaaa? So strange....must analyze more..... Oh, and Grep knows how to orbital. That's a huge plus.
Yeah. I can't do orbital in the slightest. My computer lags out too much with larger systems, so I tend to play single planet.
