Moon biome planets seen to always show up without texture for me, not sure what that's about. Added it to the tracker.
I've just had the same thing. It appeared fine previous, craters and all. I've never had the proto planet bug that's been listed before either.
Well after a few times it actually managed to spawn a regular moon planet so it turns out this is actually the same bug as the "proto planet" bug. Just seems to happen more often than before.
There's a weird issue that, if the random number chose by the planet generator gets JUST right (or wrong), the water level makes the planet do weird things. It's a solveable problem, but we're investigating. In the meantime, it's an end run around the problem to try and find the magic number that works.

I tried to play 2 games against the AI (just to check the new changes) and strange enough the planet had also a moon terrain. Kinda fun but without any metal spots a hard place to build an army :mrgreen:
Is this why on zooming out to solar system view the unit icons move planets? That's a "bug" that's been in there since day 1 - is it actually not a bug but incomplete functionality?
My guess is that its just a copy of the planet that your on, the reason why you don't see the units on the moons surface is because the planet has a larger radius or size compared to the moon, so they are floating in space. If the moon was the same size as the planet they would appear on the surface there. So from what i am thinking is that technically your fighting both on the planet and around the orbit of the moon

It's actually even simpler than that. The renderer simply render all of the units onto whichever planet the camera is focused on.
