It is a problem with the company, because they overstate their internet speed, since 99% of their customers will not be able to achieve the advertised speed. I would prefer that they at least put a disclaimer that it's a complete and utter lie.

Lol, they do use a disclaimer. That is why they would have said to you, we can give you upto 20 mb. Thats how it works, some cables are older than others so do not perform as well as brand new ones in new streets.

Please provide source on the aging of copper cables. I've never heard of that before.
