    Definitely more units coming soon, though we haven't heard any specifics other than the unit cannon and teleporter for interplanetary travel. Orbital is supposedly being overhauled to some degree as well.

    The cost of units hasn't really been balanced. AFAIK they are all still set to whatever initial value they were given (for the most part).

    Some form of minimap or second view has been discussed, though I haven't seen any official details on how it will be implemented yet.

    havnt gone through a full game play yet, i stop because of camera control, or minimap not being there or the textures looking too cartoonie... just gonna have to wait :(

    As a long time veteran of TA and Supcom/FA I must say that the game in it's current BETA form disappoints me too.

    I miss essentials like double monitor usage (1 for gameplay, 1 for map), I know this is coming.
    Useless commander.......no upgrades :-(
    No shields........

    I've played 3 skirmishes against the AI, won 2 and lost 1.
    Despite the coolness of fighting on multiple planets I'm still not sold on the implementation.

    Going back to Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance until this reaches GOLD.

    As it is right now, SC:FA has more strategy than PA, but SC:FA is finished, PA is not and I'm sure once it is it will be way better than sup com.

    I'm still hopeful about experimental units. There was a picture before the alpha started, showing unit scale. On it there was a huge mech.

    Shields should be in the game IMO, but they probably won't be.

    PA still needs more of just about everything, but what it won't get from Uber, it'll get from modders.

    If you look at the kickstart video you would see that they are indeed trying to made this game a bit cartoony. It was also a design choice, the cartoony style is supposed to be less demanding visualy.

    Personally I think it's a bit cartoony but I don't mind at all and usually I'm zoomed out anyway.

    The look of all units are disappointing, but reports indicate that textures aren't done 100% yet, I hope that is true.

    The reason I don't like the look of the units is plain and simply that they remind me of the disaster that was Supreme Commander 2 (shivers)!

    hey "trashin" i am glad i aint the only one here thinking that this game isn't going to accomplish what I thought it would do at the beginning. It is disappointing for me and i suppose for uber to come close to achieving greatness but missing it because of a few small aspects and chance the course of tactics overall.

    If what they are going for is cartoony then that's me done with the game. pathetic placing a massive strategy game without enjoying some realistic effects. If this is there way appealing to a broader audience then its not going to work.

    how is SC:FA doing now a days. am i right in saying the ranking system is no longer there ?. I have the steam based one now, but havnt used it in some time. do miss the game with some hard competition. As i run a hosting provider, i would of been more than willing to place SC and FA and GPC ranking system on more than a few servers in the EU and a few in north america, its disappointing they didn't release the files to trusted individuals, the games could of continued on a more longer basis that TA.

    Supreme commander 2 sucks donkey D**k, chris taylor sold out trying to gain a bigger audience and failed still. and by doing a premature release of the product.

    Maybe PA has failed before its started, unless they wake up now and make some serious moderate changes...

    All models and building too big compared to planet sizes. model to planet ratio.
    Cartoon feel, PA makes SC 2 look futuristic.
    A strategy game without shields, commander upgrades and one off experimental.... seriously

    They best step it up because come the release and they see the game being not as good on numbers, that they cant release a second due to very little profit and kickstarter people will remember the first project he did. They may not have to deal with publishers or studio execs for investment, instead its the communities that have invested in the hope of a idea and will remember that your first project's vision was mediocre compared to other peoples work.

    If i can only compare PA to SC series due to its scale and genre, then you should of got Chris taylors opinions on these aspects and paid him freight for a few days/weeks whilst observing the work as a independent body of interest on this project that way there would at least be assurences that this game would be better than it currently is

    chris taylor should do a kick starter for a new supreme commander. starting to think the vision of PA is already limited.

    so 14 people thinks it will absolutely be like Sup Com, yet there is no shields, experimental, com upgrades and cartoony, contradicting much ... :) ya

    The 12 votes for I bloody Hope so ! is where i fell before i played the game but now leaning to i don't think so crew.

    so a total of 26 votes for hoping its like sup com compared 3 votes for people hoping they dont want it like sup com .

    Opinions are just opinions, but statistics dont lie. even i cant talk my way out of statistics, 14 people actually believe its gonna be like sup com... 14 people are going to have a shock upon release :). the bloody hope so crew are hopefull, the dont think so crew are already aware the vision of this game has been limited. the no way crew actually dont want it to be sup com.

    Define similar to Supreme Commander for me please.

    That means different things to different people, so all of us have absolutely no way of knowing if the results agree with our own personal interpretations of the question.

    Because of this, the results are useless.

    People read in page-order. Top to bottom. What sucks monkey's balls is that poll and the important contextual information comes in the wrong order. It's a crap system.

    4 options, you choose based on the question and the options available and you then put yourself in that category.

    Its just a poll,

    1 person represents a wider number in statistics like 1 would equal to 10 etc. either way its unanimous that what MOST people are hoping for is something like supreme commander, and they arnt getting that.

    you want to bitch and moan about what is baseless, be constructive for a change, for the sake of others reading and for the creative s to at least take note whilst there is still optimum chance that they can take note as to what a community speaks of how and may have a different opinion than you.

    bullet, this game cant compare to many other games other than what's stated, so if you want a definition go play SC FA TA. and there will be your definition.

    the game at the moment shares no similarities other than its a RTS as far as i am concerned, its a weak RTS in beta for testing measures. At a similar time on kick starter there where three main projects, star citizen , project eternety, and PA.

    Star citizen pretty much owns and made the most in funds passing $30 mil (owner did wing commander )
    check how they actually listen to a community ( they dont do **** without the community's feedback )

    Project eternety continuing the baldurs gate story telling series
    Amazing visuals and again a community driven campaign

    PA boasted about keeping in play with TA series ( chris taylors work ) " a game made for the fans " is one of there quotes from the video.
    as a TA fan its already failing.

    ironic that this one post i created has really given me all i needed to see to identify if this game is worth it or not. unfortunately this game will die quickly, i dont want it to, but there is no real genius been created here.

    check out Supreme Commander Forever for one very much alive pairing/ranking system for SC:FA.
    Being a long time fan of both TA and SC/FA my playtime has mostly been divided between playing the AI and mates over LAN.
    Internet games were made difficult (but not impossible) when I wanted to drag along all the mods I enjoyed into competitive gameplay - these couldn't be ranked of course.

    Back to PA. The commander death explosion made me giggle the 1st time I saw it. Is that it, I thought to myself.
    Graphics matter! I've played my 3 first games at 'uber' graphics settings @ 1920x1200 using two 2GB ATI 6950 gfx cards where the graphics made no hints of struggling.
    No slowdowns during play, I think that's the best news so far.

    Having slept on my first ventures into PA, I still think the omission of shields is the one biggest weakness here in my limited experience. On a single planet game, whoever gets artillery up first with the enemy in range has won (longer games resort to nukes and other tricks).

    Yes, statisticly 1 person represents a higher number. However there is limit to this, 38 people cannot represent the 38000 people(I don't know the real number) that bought/sponsored the game.

    This game is the "spirutal successor" to Total Annihilation. The game was made for the small group of people that liked that game. And the people that like the idea of an RTS on planets. But there where some nice things in SubCom and the devs will try to put these in the game.
    Language, keep it civil.
    SC is a micro game, PA is going to be macro. It is not a good game to compair PA too.
    PA is successor to TA, 14 People will not get a SubCom clone. Then again even though the game will be TAs successor it will not be a clone. Because features like multiple planets.
    We have devs on the forum :)
    Yes, that is a really detailed opinion. Is this person active on the forums, facebook of twitter trying to support the game?
    That is your opinion. Their is nothing wrong with that.

    If you want shields, experimentals, com upgrades then mod them in when the game is released or see if someone is willing to.

    Look I play Forged aliance since 2007 ,and will play until the and like most off ower FA(F) community.

    1-Before i play Supreeme commander.

    2-Before i have play total anhilation all the expansions.

    3-FA(F) its growing day after day ,and still the 1 best rts ever,wont be easy any other company have the money or the mind like Chris taylor and his old team ,to make a game like SCFA that give you all you look on a RTS game.

    Only who dont now this all history or not play enouth (TA.SCFA) that CT -Chris taylor have give us ,are the only that can think Planetary anhilation can have something to do with all that epic games ,that will live and will be remenber forever .

    PA only have a bit options off TA nothing moore can be understood has the same or similar.

    PA its just a diferent game using some TA options like Sub-Zero community have done.

    The diference on PA its that got diferent options from other rts games that i think its very good,we (they) just need a lot off work on all structure game (economy,builds,ui,field tactics,ground naval air fixes and balance)

    So far uber its make what i wasnt expect,game its become very fun to play,even without all SC economy and tactic complexity .

    I belive with a lot moore work on the game ,this will be a good game to play.

    Just dont now iff got the power to grab the players for moore then 6 months,but that we will see.

    To 80% players we prefer good rts gameplay that will grab us loong, then have just another preety look game to send next to other 100 games that we buy and dont have play moore then 5/20 times.

    And only FA, Crysis,UT3,BF4 i still play online.

    Its all very funny until the game isnt released, but when the game comes out and magazines and critics dont suport the game idea or like the game.

    Well we all now what happend to Domigod and Supreeme commander 2!!!!

    I say this because i really Buy all the games...

    PA WILL BE A GOOD GAME .....

    4 of the 5 people that said No Way say so because they don't like the art. The other 1 person said No Way because they don't like lots of units.

    Think I'm wrong? Prove it.

    This is why the poll is meaningless. People can vote for different reasons, and we have no idea what those reasons are, and we have no idea how many of those reasons conflict with each other.

    If you think the game will die quickly, then you better get ahead of the curve and leave before everyone else does.

    Also, "similar" is an objective concept.

    Anyway, this game isn't "alpha" anymore, you should be able to see how similar or not it is without too much issue.

    It is definitely less ambiguous and more straightforward in unit role so far, and if more types of function are added then they will be selective instead of throwing in "the whole enchilada" of random unit abilities that all sort of clash, it just ruins simplicity.

    It still plans on having some great effort-saving UI features.

    It has a pretty niche and new place as a RTS using spherical maps and space travel.

    Generally, I think it is similar, but it obviously wasn't made "starting with SC" and building off of it, but rather "starting with nothing" and building off a clean slate.

    I still, being objective, cannot vote correctly on this. I just recommend staying involved with watching gameplay on YouTube or whatever since it is at a threshold I would consider functional as a game. You see what the game is and isn't like from that. Beyond that, the forums answer questions on coming features or not.
