Also always keep bitching at gunners using miniguns to mow down blackjacks, but to be fair I'm right in this case.

However, on Grenade III where it's relatively open, you'd have to be completely oblivious to the world around you or a sitting duck (unless you're juiced when firing the mortar) since anyone running along two axis can evade most damage if they're not a heavy class, and the chaingun does more DPS, even moreso if you're deployed, whereas the mortar doesn't gain a benefit from deploying.

On the other hand though, on tighter maps like LazeRazor or Spunky, you can use the mortar to bounce of walls before they split in order to destroy turrets, firebases and pros if they're digging in, or at least soften them before chaingunning them when they're in line of sight.

EDIT: On top of that, minigun can be used effectively against anyone in mid-air, whether they be jumping all the time or, say, an assault who's jet-packing. This is why gunners should easily slaughter assaults, and why I hate losing to triple assault teams when we have like two gunners at least who should both deal with them fairly easily.

    Wow Zanarias, you were right.

I've been playing with your idea of focusing on the ejectors on Spunky and hot damn are they SO powerful!

I was really struggling with a strong opening for that map, but now I have it: Bolt along the left side of the map in a dead sprint for the rearmost ejector. If you don't get distracted or killed you can get there in time to eject the entire first double-wave of enemy bots. From there you have easy access to that normally annoying moneyball rocket turret, and dropping down gives you a clear shot to the second. Unopposed, you can devestate both turrets and the the first two complete waves of bots, which really rocks the enemy team back on their heels.

Obviously good players will stop this, but I was astounded by how easy it was to basically win the entire game almost by myself with this strategy. It happened several times.

So anyway, yeah, thanks. Spunky ejectors for the win!

Now I have openings I like for 3 of the maps. I just need to figure out LazeRazor and Ammo Mule.
