Lovely patch/update but I am still unable to host a server, really upsetting

What happens when you try to host?

I just ran a server (started up from ingame launch, no script or anything) using all default settings including server name but setting it to a dedicated, same thing always happens where someone tries to join but then the server will just stop responding.

To note I can host games on the xbox version no problem when I am given host in a migration or something, I am 100% sure I have the right ports open but the server will even hang if I try to join it myself via running the game again.

So you can run a server, it's just when anyone joins it that it crashes immediately?

Yeah seems that way, if I join it myself as the first user I am stuck on a constant loading screen until I alt+tab or something, if someone else joins I guess they are having the same experiance.

One time about 4 people tried to join at the same time, only one of them made it and I am guessing most likely was stuck in a loading screen.

same for me (windows 7 64 bits), and if I try to host on a listen server the client freezes when someone else tries to connect.

edit: and I got the same issue on an xp 32 bits install apparently

Jety has a machine that exhibits this problem so hopefully we can track it down using that.

Why are these patches so large (1gb+)? For the amount of changes made it doesn't seem right?... it seems as if we are re downloading the entire client each time there is a new patch? I really hope there is a better patch system once it's released as downloading 1gb for a few changes (no new maps etc..) is pretty bad.

The next patch should be the last of the big downloads. We do have better patching system but it needs more testing.
