What? How is allowing people into the Alpha to help develop the game not compatible with the Steam Early Access Program?

I'm sorry but you fail at marketing. You should feel bad for posting such stupidity.

Because that isn't 'really' what Early Access has become. People on steam don't want to help the game develop, and they aren't really interested in being beta testers. They want to just play the game as soon as possible, even if it is unfinished. To them, that is what Early Access is. Since they are the ones using it, they are right, regardless of what Steam's boilerplate says.

You can argue that it is illogical, because it is. But that doesn't alter the fact that the Early Access system is just an 'as is' release with a nifty blue ribbon on it in their minds.

Then these people are idiots. Early access is alpha/beta testing.

You can keep saying that, but it doesn't miraculously make it true. Sure its dumb and the people who think it are dumb, but its the way it is, and it probably won't change.

It doesn't need to change. They can continue to be idiots all they like. In fact it lets me laugh at them, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Please, the only people complaining are the ones that want it NOW. The fact of gaming is....

If a game is good it will sell.

That sums it up and when they hit retail at 40 people will buy even the ones saying " I WILL NEVER BUY IT NOW"... yeah I can personally say I know this happens all the freak'n time and every time those same people are seen months down the road enjoying the game they bashed.

Good or Bad publicity is on the way you see it, people see it now they know about it now they want it but not at that price, in time when it shows up as released at 40 it will sell like hotcakes. I get why the devs did the pricing they did, good for them.

That'd be a bit difficult considering those people who got it on sale, still wouldn't have the numerous exclusives given to kickstarter backers and later the Uber preorders.

I support this game and I paid 90$ to get into the early alpha but regarding the early acess on Steam.

The only thing I have to say about this, did anyone expect anything else?
If you thought the 90$ price tag wouldn´t make the masses flip tables you are delusional.
There will be blind hate and there will be a LOT of it.

Seriously - I don't get ANY of the hate.
I mean you don't have to buy it at that price tag, right? 40$ for the final game is actually pretty cheap.
All people who are upset are the ones who desperately want the game but cannot afford it.

Why should they get the alpha any cheaper just because they're whining about the price? The people who backed it on kickstarter when it was just a great idea had to pay $90, and they're just complaining because they can't afford it and can't understand the difference between "full game" and "alpha".
