Maybe the tanks are really fast?

If the final design on PA looks like that biome concept shot I am going to be insanely happy! (for high end systems granted)

Your snapshot of SCFA is of the "alien" faction, NOT the Core/ARM TA-like factions in SCFA.

If you had taken a snapshot of the appropriate SCFA factions, then you would have seen an almost identical SCFA-style look to that of TA.

I find it funny that people give feed back not based on game play experience but simply watching. Playing and watching are very much different >.> you need to play before you give your final impressions on alpha, you're sort of judging a book by its cover. I played the hell out of TA ever since I was a kid, fortress Europe was my bitch, so while PA doesn't match that quite yet being incomplete and all it most definitely feels like TA when you actually get off the ground and further more when we can get of these planets and starting taking all the rest to blow up.

I find it funny that you think I'm not allowed to render feedback on a game just because I don't want to spend $90 on it.

Just because you're devoted/fanatical/crazy/hopeful/insane enough to spend $90 on a game in alpha state doesn't mean that others are (including myself).

If Uber can't convince more people than the devoted/fanatical/crazy/hopeful/insane to spend money on PA while it's in alpha/beta/etc. state based on its "book's cover", then it's got its work cut out for it from a financial perspective.

Head on over to the kick starter and view the 44k backers, have a nice day.

That's cool if you don't wanna buy the alpha but I state wait till the game is in a foreseeable phase of its final form, or else yet again you are judging it by its cover.. Aka late beta or else you're panicking over things that are A plan to change or B are changed.

Actually since you cannot base your feedback on personal experience it is of very limited use at best.

I may as well try to recommend to BMW how to improve the M5 Sedan without having ever driven one. I might be able to comment on the car's appearance but not its handling, cargo space, or interior comfort. All of which matter far more than how it looks.

    That's kind of the idea.

Quite the opposite actually. They do not need or want to convince many people to pay $90 for the alpha. Most people are not supposed to buy it now. They are supposed to pre order it for $40 or buy it for $40-$50 after it is released. That's why it is in Steam early access and not general retail.

After watching a number of PA alpha gameplay videos on YouTube, I've come to the conclusion that PA's gameplay is .... predictable.

More often than not, PA gamers go for the "turtle" strategy. They build their economy while erecting a number of tower defense weapons. Since the tower defense weapons are always stronger than any mobile attack force, the gamers never have to worry about their base. That allows them to then build a number of artillery pieces, which they then use to shell the enemy into oblivion. Sometimes, an airforce is built, but not always, as the artillery pieces usually blow up the enemy with little resistance.

I've yet to see a video where there's some exciting battle between mobile units on a consistent basis. Like I said, the PA gameplay looks.... predictable.

Everything will change, in particular once Metal Points are fully implemented.

The PA "gameplay" looks Alpha. Many components, including balance, simply haven't been worked on yet. Lack of Metal spots for example means there's no need to expand, so turtling works.

Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

I'm looking forward to seeing how PA further develops. There's a lot of potential here, as there is the possible missteps.

I do hope that some of the sound effects are placeholders. There's one sound that resembles a "synthetic water drop" when some clicking action is performed. It sounds.... cheesy at best.
