Bought this game yesterday and tried playing a multiplayer game. I can join games fine and for 10-20 seconds into the game its fine, I can choose a class, spawn and kill people/robots.

But after this period of time the game lags out and everyone in the match just keeps running forwards on or the spot. All my abilities do not work, but my weapon still works, but has no effect on anything. It doesn't disconnect me, I have to leave manually. This happens even for servers with no-one in them.

I have tried many multiplayer servers and all have the same effect, I don't know any solutions.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Sparky.

EDIT: All ports are forwarded, including Steam ports. Still nothing :|

I've been getting this also. I played a game most of the way through online just after the patch. It did, however, quit to menu saying I'd lost connection to steam which appeared to be a lie but being in beta it's not so bad.

I just tried to play a couple more games online and got this problem in each game. Ports are forwarded for steam and MNC. Singleplayer is quite fun for now.

A best mate of mine is getting this exact same issue. He's just moved house and got a new connection plan, and with it a new modem. We both suspect it's his POS modem.

Bump! Uberent really needs to adress this. I can't play for more than 5 seconds. It lags out for some reason.. and I know it isn't my pc nor my connection. It works fine for every other online game.

I also have the same issue, also have a Thompson router, already sent a support ticket, no answer, had the same issue on another game, because of this "router".

    ATI HD4650 series
    Q9950 (unclocked)
    Win7 64bit

Re: Multiplayer match lags out after 10 seconds of joining.

Exact same problem, join game and few seconds later, gun stops working, players around me running in straight lines, i have to go back to server browser.

    I have Thomson SpeedTouch TG585v7
This was provided by my isp:
    http://www.o2user.co.uk/forum/o2-broadb ... guide.html

Im not surprised most peeps in this thread have this router, there is a known problem with some steam games. I use to play Left4dead without any problems, then one day a patch update change that, steam changed a setting which my router did not like, i kept joining L4D games and got disconnected few seconds after. Valve provided a fix which works and i can play L4D without any problems, here is the fix:

    https://support.steampowered.com/kb_art ... -HCVB-6984

Just rename the MasterServers.vdf file to MasterServer2.vdf and make it read only (the file name changed when the new version of steam came out).

This fixes the problem in L4D, hopefully Uber can come up with a similar solution for MNC, this router is popular among UK isp's so expect alot of customers from UK to have this problem.

Thank you for posting that "cyzmyass".

This Thomson router is very popular here in Portugal too. Almost every friend of mine has it. I've never had problems with it so far. Hopefully Uber will fix it soon.

Have the same router and getting the same problem...

Seems to help if I turn port forwarding on then back off (though that forces a connection reset, so rebooting router directly might also work), but it stops working once I quit the game/game crashes...

Wonder if it is with all Thomson router's or just certain models.

Re: Multiplayer match lags out after 10 seconds of joining.

    Ok there is a telnet fix posted in this thread;

    http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/s ... hp?t=38891

"This is for those whose game has specimens walking into walls within 60 seconds of joining a server who have one of the routers mentioned or any router which is a rebranded Thomson. This is caused by a defective network rule on the router.

Edit (23rd July 2010): The file fix doesn't work, it seems something else has changed in the way that Steam communicates with the master servers for games. The only option you have for now is to either try forwarding your ports listed in a sticky (works for a few people), try the telnet fix (works 100% IF your router allows telnet access and you are able to log in to it), or use a workaround such as one of the following:

    * connect to a game and when it disconnects you (you see specimens walking into walls) open the console with the ` or ' key and type reconnect (you'll have to do this twice)
    * wait longer than 1 minute after refreshing the server list to join the game
    * add servers to your favourites and instead of clicking on internet, click favourites and connect from there"
