Because we just love trailers that hand out the entire plot.

you might be suprised how much such trailers ACTUALY sell the movie to people ...
other trailers for the same movie could be just ambigous and merely get out a "meh" reaction instead of "huh, intresting" ...

Frankly if I care enough to be annoyed I'll probably watch the movie anyway. It's just disappointing to know what's going to happen.

I guess you'll have to watch it and find out :p I thought the trailer showed plenty... also you could look into the comics that this is based on...

I actually much prefer trailers that protect the plot. the more key it is to the movie the more it needs protection for your appreciation of the movie to remain intact the more I'm enticed to see it because it becomes evident that it is a movie of the intellectual kind.

I was actually quite fond of some trailers that straight up lied to me with senes that didn't even end up with the movie and that implied certain things happened while something completely other ends up happening in the movie : it's both intriguing and gets you to want to see the movie but spoils 0 of it.

Plenty of action? yes. Does it spoil every action scene? yes. But does it spoil the plot? There's no plot in there, so tatsujb must love it.

Why does everyone assume that just because i want to know what the movie is about, it should immediately spoil every little bit of plot? I just want to know what the movie is about.

    So you liked Jarhead?

Just saw The Revenant, it was pretty excellent on the technical aspect. Possibly one of the most intense movies I've ever seen.

It's definitely more of a "what the medium is capable of" type movie, though. The story that was there was interesting enough to pull the movie along without being boring but the real crux of the movie was the incredible cinematography, the fact that it was shot on-location rather than in a studio makes it even more "holy ****" worthy. The acting was also excellent and the computer effects that were there blended well with the real stuff and never felt jarring or too fake. Would recommend.

I'm just waiting for the CinemaSins outtake where they play the audio from Empire Strikes back when Leo sleeps in a horse.

I never paid attention to the trailers either. I just heard about the horse thing from a youtube comment or something.

And if you don't know that The Revenant will involve Leo living rough then how the hell did you even manage to get to the cinema without crashing into something?
