That's the only thing keeping him from being underpowered, imo. Not that he's balanced, per se. Just that his incredibly big cons are now balanced out with the rape shotgun, and of course, your little friend.

Firebase: Especially that it can shoot cloaked Assassins sometimes and obliterate them with its ridiculous firerate >.<

    Ice traps and Stealth.

If the gold armor assassin wants to go toe to toe with a shotgun in front of a Support, prepare for consequences. She trades stealth, backstabs and quick juice gain for small health. Sniper also trades health for being the best long range fighter and pretty good mid range with the SMG, and immobilizing pros with ice traps.

Support has no continuous long range weapon he can carry around with him. He has to be able to hold back juiced players as well. Step back and shuriken it or smoke bomb then slice it.

^^^ A firebase does ridiculously excessive damage output for a non-player. It literally could kill a Juiced play in seconds. And most classes cannot out damage the Support thats healing it.. plus its range is practically half the map you cant even get close to damage the healing support in some scenarios.

Well, I feel the FB is too much, tbh. It's range, firing rate, and just about everything is too much. It's almost as bad as the Sniper was early on.

Like bots, once it starts targeting you, you're pretty much screwed. The firing rate, after getting it hacked at all, and Lv 2, which is always done if it's actually expected to hold down the fort, will destroy everyone. I believe it does the most damage to a juiced player, period.

It can be place anywhere. Anywhere. At all. And moved. This, along with the fact that you only get 10 bucks for taking down that monster? Are you kidding? Yeah, right. SOOO much less dangerous than that Lv. 1 Laser Blazer.

Even as an Assault, which I think is the worst class to go up against a firebase, I really don't have trouble taking them down or just avoiding them.

Flak + Sniper Rifle = Firebase gone
    S. Launcher = Firebase gone
    Airstrike = Firebase gone
Deploy + Dual Miniguns = Firebase gone

I usually don't get killed by a firebase more than once a match. I usually kill two firebases in a match.

Taking them down, and avoiding them aren't a problem when I know about them.

It's simply the large offensive capability against other pros.

As a juiced player, you should always focus on taking out the firebase first. If he wants to get shot by it and not return fire, then it's his own fault for not prioritizing it.

Pfft. Letting a Firebase live. You're funny. Once I find out it's in the game, it WILL go. Eventually.

Key word SHOTGUN. It's meant to be strong at close range and only close range. And you keep saying it's a 1 shot kill on Assassins and Snipers. You do realize that they have low health for a reason. Quick nimble and very versatile classes. Assassins aren't supposed to be all gunho about getting near enemies. They are stealth classes. Thats probably why you die by them so much. I play assassin a bit and I have no trouble with them in most cases excluding the firebase. I agree about the firebase being overpowered though.
    Note this is speculation

By that same logic, I could say that Supports are supposed to SUPPORT and should not be going around with a shotgun being able to kill pros in 1 or 2 hits.

I echo the Firebase sentiments: it shoots too far. Reduce its range and up the Air Strike recharge time.

Now how about a slight Tank buff?

If you have a problem with firebases, you're a newbie. Rarely will I get a kill on an experienced player who just didn't know it was there and turned a blind corner - but you can be sure he takes it out immediately after that. The skilled players know how to look for the signs of a firebase nearby, and knows to take it out.

The truth is every class can take out firebases easily. Every player with skill I've ever encountered doesn't let my firebase last for very long. Sure it can be placed anywhere and moved - but not instantly. The support has to stand out in the open, and has to touch some crazy number pad on his powerglove for a while, all the while saying an audible phrase that alerts you to their presence, and they often get interrupted by skilled players for their trouble.

If the other team is elite, setting up a firebase is arguably a complete waste of time.

Are you the sniper who refuses to find a good angle on the firebase? The assassin who has no idea how to smoke bomb to take it out? The tank who... well, if you have a problem taking out a firebase with a tank with any method, you really are the newbie. Assault can grenade it, whoever else I'm leaving out can kill it easy as well. So yes, the firebase works GREAT on newbies!

To the other thing - shotgun being able to take down assassins and snipers in 1 shot. Break that down a little: Assassins and snipers are both known for 1 shot kills (so, frankly, they don't get to complain about 1 shot kills).

If you get shotgunned by a support you already failed. Either at being sneaky, or being far away.

They can't 1-shot any of the other classes, so we have, best case scenario, is 1 hit kill on 2 classes if they chose to not get armor endorsements and they're close enough to give the support a hug. That's the issue?

I've noticed the truly skilled assassins don't find the shotgun to be an issue. Again - it's an awesome weapon against the newbies.

"But I'm invisible," I hear them whine.

What supports no longer have is a decent weapon against skilled players. Skilled players can avoid the shotgun, and for that matter, I don't think the skilled players really had a problem with airstrikes before the nerf. They knew how to act to make them no big deal.

The skilled Support should know how to defend his Firebase.

Did you expect to be able to put your Firebase in an open location with no risk?

It can actually be extremely useful with good placement. Seems like a "Placing it out in the open" problem.

There are generally 3-6 players on the enemy team. A Firebase is not going to be a pro's main target. And it's not like most Supports move from their Firebase. They sit there and babysit it.

The Support also has Airstrikes. Yeah the Assassin has a CONDITIONAL one hit kill, but there's a cooldown on that. There is no cooldown on the shotgun.

I didn't realize Supports were supposed to be this awesome offensive force that I had to stay away from.

The issue is that most Supports run gold RoF and it is very difficult to get away from them before they fire 2 shots.

Every Assassin I know of has complained about this at one point or another. Don't know who these mythical skilled Assassins are that you speak of.

The shotgun is by far the most ridiculously accurate weapon I've seen on this game. And why exactly is the Support going around trying to kill decent players with a shotgun? The Support was given the hack ability. So find some turrents and use it.

Supports need money too, if they got good money for healing, you'd see less gung ho shotgun Supports.

The hack implies the enemy made it to your base perimeter because you didn't push them back in time. Again, you get no money for hacking.

No. It just sounded like the complaint was that we can willy-nilly put them anywhere we want with no risk. My point was that there was risk.

I practice finding the most pain in the *** spots to put it. What I said was, against an elite team, it's arguably a complete waste of time. It either doesn't make it past being set up, or it's gone within moments. I've seen you play - and you're good. I know you know how to take them out.

I disagree with that. I think skilled players make a firebase a priority. For the same reason you say they're overpowered, they simply take them out. I think you do too -- I'm not sure why you, of all people, think they're a problem.

We don't really have airstrikes anymore - the cooldown is huge. We have to be really careful - and spending them on an assassin in a waste of time. The shotgun is conditional upon being able to aim, and your being in my face. There is a reload time on the shotgun.

I was writing about assassins failing at sneaking, and snipers failing at being far away.

Assassins can get away several ways. Smoke bomb jump, dashing away. It happens all the time.

OK. I complain when I die from any method. That doesn't mean it's a valid complaint.

    Really? You be trolling now.

I know a pointless argument when I see one. You will continue to think they are underpowered, and I will continue to think they are overpowered. That is all.

Thats true but there is almost no benefit to supporting a player, turret, or bot besides juice really and to keep it alive. And now the hurtgun is pretty crappy against a full health player now but I only use the thing if I had juice just cause I rather get up close and personal and shot people. But a shotgun is a circumstantial 1 shot kill just like the assassin and her back grapples, or the snipers headshot. The only time I see the assassin to be at any huge disadvantage is when that player is lagging.
