i would say it definitely plays a role however i am not the greatest gamer, and i mainly played mnc when it was rather popular and my kdr in this is better than my kdr in most other fps games. MNC is just an easy easy game.

Eh, TF2 you just kind of crash against the other team in waves. There is no real penalty to dying (since there are usually like 24 people on a server, most servers have a very short spawn time, etc.). That's why TF2 feels easy to me. Compared to that, MNC has a huge penalty for dying.

My K/D sucks in MNC (I think I'm like 1.3:1 or 1.4:1 for lifetime 181 hours played), but in a game like Counterstrike, I'm typically at least 3:1.

I also don't get mad playing any other game. For some reason, MNC hits some dark primal place in my soul that makes me yell, cuss, and pound on my desk when I repeatedly get nailed (typically when on a bad team and I'm the only one trying to leave the base).

So maybe the individual game mechanics aren't whats hard. It's the finding a decent game with only 6 players on each team. And new players won't pick up a lot of the nuanced game play inherent in this game. It has a bit of a strategy to it where you have to adjust your play style compared to similar games. I dunno, maybe its just me, but MNC feels way more complex than other team shooters (which also makes it more satisfying in some ways).

Stop playing TF2 pubs then, if you find it easy or not punishing enough (dirty boy :p) as a friend of mine, who plays his secondary on pubs(sniper), said: "I consider TF2 pubs as a shooting range, I join and pop bloody melons" . Go and play lobby, you die? 6v5 for 20seconds, talk about punishment. TF2 pub isnt even a real game, thats just a training mode.

I see what you did there, Wilder. Next time I see you in my scope, you spastic little gremlin, everything above your neck is going to be a fine red mist. Keep yubbing that big mouth while it's still attached to your bloody neck.
    God save the queen!

What you mean by "just screw around"? I find the game to have lot more "screw around" potential than any other shooter ever made...

MNC is starting to go the way of call of duty for me, the lag is becoming so unbearable that bs like my tank dieing the second i rocket dash at a assault with level three dash, inability to trigger jump pads because of lag causing a death by falling off a ledge or people shooting at me, and all the numerous glitches in the game like not being able to hurt someone despite shooting at them at point blank range almost causing a death while juiced. This game is starting to frustrate me to the point that i might give up on it, but then again it is way better than call of duty bs so i will probably keep playin dont mind my b**ching it just really pisses me off sometimes. By the way Im playing the 360 version.

I feel your pain bra but not as much. For some reason despite the fact that I have massive ping I never run into the most bothersome issues. Just Blue skill bug. It makes me wonder.

Back to the topic at hand.

It is most likely because of the map deficiency and the OT rules.

Maybe they should just start a community mapping contest, make some arena assets and the necessary .u files available to people and let them mess around with it in a very old UDK version that is hopefully compatible with the engine version of the game. The best maps will be made official ones and the mapper gets something for his effort.

Will never happen, but it's nice to dream about it anyway.

But while TF2 feel like the goddess of class balance in every possible way, the classes in this game feel sometimes just dull like a mindless shooting range.

The problem in team games is that the less players you have available on each team, the more important does it become that everyone knows what to do and does so. And that's where this game easily gets frustrating, especially when people idle in the spawn or ragequit in the middle of the match. That problem does not exist with more players, as it can be seen in games like BF2, UT2k4 or TF2.

Especially the idlers are usually the death to a team and most of the time there is nothing you can do about them because the votekick requirements are way too high. It expects that 75% of the players on the server agree to the kick - but often on public servers do the people either don't know how to open the vote menu (a simple F1 for "Yes" or F2 for "No" that is displayed in the screen would probably help a lot) or the enemy team is just happy to have someone sabotaging one the other side.
The system should rather be like in Left 4 Dead: a simple relative majority vote is enough and abstentions are not counted as contra. That means the vote is only decided between those who vote "Yes" and those who vote explicitely "No" when the voting time ends, an absolute majority is reached or all players have voted.
Furthermore you could think about a system where, when the vote is started against a player on the own team by a player of the own team, the vote only takes place among that team.
