MNC: Draft Edition-The Bracket

Well you see even though it's been talked about for weeks and the teams were made and match-ups were there a week prior it took me till Thursday(just past) to hear from my teammates let alone if and any day Jack and his team was ready.

This is absolutely ridiculous what is happening here. Why did so many people put thier names in for this thing but aren't willing to give some of thier time to play. We have all these shenanegans already because of jerks committing to things that aren't willing to fulfill. Edward Coug, I think that you are awesome for putting this whole thing together but I think you are being too nice to these teams that didn't communicate one bit and are now asking for crap like 2-week periods to get thier game in. Maybe If you people would have thought ahead of time you wouldn't be making such ignorant requests. I would also like to know why you are just allowing anyone to jump into the sub pool when the teams have already been picked. I have already seen people picking ringers out of there because they claim thier team can't play. I really would like to know why you are allowing people that would have been 1st or 2nd round picks in to the subpool, that's wrong and unfair. These people missed out on this one, they can wait until next time. If your team can't make it to the game, doesn't have enough people, can't get subs, and the other team is ready to play then said team should recieve a forfeit, should they not. I'm tired of all these excuses why teams can't play, either be there or you forfeit, why can't it be as easy as that. Coug, start throwing around the words 'automatic forfeit' and I guarantee people will get thier act together.

Easy there, killer. This tournament was still mostly started for community interaction, not "serious business". Yes, some people are being irresponsible but that is going to happen with the internet.

As for the ringers, i'm not sure i see anyone in the subpool who would have been first or second round picks. And I know that when some folks, liefglinde for example, offered to be in the subpool it was decided he should maybe wait out of this tournament for the exact reason you are referring too. So Coug isn't allowing just "anyone".

I do however agree having some sort of ruling on when you have to forfeit might help get some people to focus.

*I'm granting all teams a one week extension for the first round. If you can't get your games in by next Sunday, you will forfeit.

for jack trips and deadstretch. can't play sundays 12-6pm. mondays and wednesdays 10-3:30pm. I've pretty much opened my schedule up for this week so with ample time I should be free. I was on 12-3 today waiting.

I just want to make it clear that i let my team know what time to practice and when game time was. We talked to the other team and we both agreed on a time which would be suitable. Some people couldn't make it and we used subs rather then forfit. Not everyone in the draft lives in the same time zone etc and those who signed up are responsible for what happens to their team/captain.

If both teams schedule a reasonable time and agree upon it and the other players don't show it's not the captains fault. If there can't be enough subs to do 6v6 then make it 5v5 or 4v4 if you dont feel the team should forfit.

The sub list is open to anyone who needs a player or 2..

Also theres a few players who don't even have a gold membership to play (Grec) so how can they be used?

Also I think it would be a good idea if the Subs. would add a time frame to be notified. A few messages I sent to players on the sub list returned no answer.

Oh bugger, this weekend was my flexible weekend.

I'm happy to reschedule the game for the coming week, but it will not be tomorrow. I am available any weeknight (Eastern time) and then pretty flexible for the weekend. I'll message all my members, and Magnum, when I get home tomorrow to get their times.

There's one more sub available. KnighT aM. He asked me to add him before. It slipped my mind. My sincerest apologies.

I saw Ian on during the time we were supposed to play, and it occurred to me that Ian could be a sub. He was registered for the original tourney, then backed out for internet reasons if I recall correctly. As long as he can stay in a game, he seems like a good sub for at least Saturday and Sunday afternoons, according to his schedule of course.

(BTW Ian, I'm nominating you to be added to the subs list.)

it would help if games were scheduled atleast 1 day in advance.
it's hard to be there for a game when your told in a message over xbox live 8pm with no date. even assuming it was supposed to be sat i had allready left the house before 6 pm central. you cant set a time and date on the same day the macth is played.

Captains: Message your team today if you haven't already (XBL and PM preferrably). Request available times from Wednesday to Sunday. By Wednesday (most matches not already scheduled probably won't happen before then), the captains should have enough data to exchange a few possible times. If four or more members can make it to a specific time, you should consider getting subs. Remember, it's double elimination so it doesn't mean that your original team members can't play in later rounds, regardless of outcome. Message possible subs beforehand, before anybody says they can't play. This way they will be able to clear time also, along with having more time to get back to you.

Players: If you have an uncommunicative captain, message them up the a-hole. If they still don't respond, take it upon yourself to message the rest of the team. Then, message Coug and see what could be done about it.

Coug: Add more subs, please. Also, if any teams forfeit for lack of involvement, their players that still want to play could be added to the sub list. Please remember that if a few teams poop out, it doesn't mean that the whole thing has to.

Sorry if any of this seems pessimistic, but I thought I was being neglectful of this tournament and as far as I can tell it turns out I was more on top of the game than most. There are a lot of variables to this turning into a successful tournament, and it requires all members working together. Captains and players have to be a little bit more proactive. Everybody signed up for this tourney to have fun, so help make the fun happen.

Alternative plan: Don't play any of your matches. BTN will be there for all of ours, and we will take our easy victory.
