Lemme answer that question with another question.

For what POSSIBLE reason would Uber restrict early access to the game after the kickstarter?

People who couldn't/wouldn't participate in the kickstarter for whatever reason can still play the game after the kickstarter's limit was reached, and at the same time can also support the development of the game.

There was no risk to allowing the continued sale of the game, and if you didn't see it coming from the beginning then I have absolutely nothing to say to you anymore.

I see that you didn't answered my next post :)

Really, kickstater is not a store. It's not the same act.
It's really not the same idea behind giving the money and buying something.

Because the game industry worked like that for years.
Closed beta for paid testers, then open, free beta.

I feel like an alien saying that beta were and should be free. Is that already so common to pay for a unfinished product !?

I'm okay with the idea of closed-beta for early adopters (ie. pre-order).
But pre-order are CHEAPER than the retail game (because you do a bet on the quality of the final game), not more expensive like PA was. That's where my problem is.

If you can't understand that unfinished products must be cheaper and not more expensive, I really fear for the future of the industry.

Sorry Cola_colin, but i highly disagree.
Right now, the game is NOT DRM free.
You can NOT do a 40 players game.
=> This are not actual features available right now.

Thus, the webside is wrong and misinforming the customer.
This points should be mentionned at least as planned features, or work in progress.

And the way it changes is not good...
Changes have to happen, but preferably in a good way for me.
"Open to everybody paid Early Access" is not a "Beta".
It's selling at full price a half baked cake telling to your custmers that you will finish backing it later if they have the patience to wait...

Bingo! Now you understand why I'm so virulent.

(maybe you are okay for paying more for stuff that were free, but if you are a consumer, that's alarming).

I don't know the reason but I'm locked out of limit theory even though I'd pay 90€ to get in.

I'll just say what single item can you buy in a Dollar store for $1000?

If you ask me, a game is "released" as soon as it is available to be purchased and played, not when the developers slap some arbitrary FINISHED sticker on it.

Full price would actually be almost okay. It's more expensive :)
(I'm pretty sure the sale price on steam/gog/whatever was the retail price).

if people do not know what they are buying into even though the information is there it´s their own fault
i am a baker as you are, yes i was concerned with some of their decitions but ultimately found my peace with it
as in i don´t mind them giving out options to consumers ... weither consumers like the prices or not is up to them ..
they themselves could be just as greedy as they may accuse the devs to be ...

i may respect your viewpoint of disliking the decitions uber have made
but i wont ever respect what you did on metacritic
you may had the right reasons but ultimately made the wrong move and damaged your reputation aswell as your credibility ..

    Errr...
This is getting even more ridiculous.

You COULD have donated 10$ for PA and get nothing. Because IT IS NOT A STORE.
Try that with 0.5 cents in a 1$ store...

Yes. And that's why I don't understand why people here are surprised that it's on metacritic... It's sold for months!

Well at that point you aren't expecting any goods in return for your contribution.

It's really no different than people giving the game 10/10 whilst saying "Game is online only for up to another half year", "Game is not finished", "Game runs at 15 fps" and so on and so on.

My problem is that the information is not there.

Early access in the common sense doesn't mean unfinished game.

The current price is higher than the retail price, and I only know that because of some claims from uber in this forum, not from the store page.
