X-Factor is seriously an x-factor in this game. Hiyoooooo!. But seriously, the game is designed to make you always feel on the edge of your seat because of XFC. I've had games where I was clearly being outplayed but XFC brought the game back. And it can just as easily happen to me. But yeah, I'm not into comics, but first thing I do know about Deadpool is that he's insane from suffering massive trauma and pain and his healing factor kept him alive. I suppose it's different from Wolverine's because his healing factor also works on a subconscious level and keeps his psyche in one piece after a life filled with trauma. The only missions I've 100%'d are Spencer and Spider-Man. I can't stand Wesker's 8th mission because it's an assist combo. And not an easy assist combo either. Not like calling in an OTG assist combo extender. Honestly, the only weakness Sentinel has is his huge hitbox, but it can be pretty detrimental. Everyone can pretty much instant overhead him.
I agree with Ninja Wallace, his voice from what I have heard is pretty grating, plus do you expect this to have a high-pitched voice? And he isn't even that witty and clever in a psychopathic way, he's just completley random. Which he kind of is, but his jokes and sayings have no real meaning in this.
Hey, the more the merrier. X-23's mixups are vicious. You either get command grabbed or hit low, and it's a hyper. And boy, that damage racks up quick. Funny as I can't do Spiderman's, Crouching attacks into DP's > Me. I also don't like assist combos, they're always weird. And something that I realized about some of Sentinels attacks (like his launcher) is that it has hyper armor, not super armor like I previously thought. Difference being hyper armor will absorb any number of attacks until the hyper armor ends and it won't be affected, while Super Armor generally only absorbs one or two attacks. Which explains the frustration many people are facing against him.
Though, really, just about any team can bring someone very close to death with two DHCs. @DeadpoolFTW - He's suppose to have a gravelly Demi Moore voice. Something that is brought up a hundred times more than he breaks the fourth wall.
SRK had an article about that and I just realized what you meant by hyper and super armor. I'm not super into understanding the numbers they throw in about his frame data, but it sounds like they're saying his launcher is can be punished by a fast enough attack. If I were to play against a Sentinel right now, I'd zone him a bit and make him think about countering with his beams and sentinel force, which I'll then punish with Iron Man assist beam + movement option (Wesker teleports). Also, did anyone vote? I'll give you one try to guess who I voted for on Capcom's side...
My main team is Ryu/X-23/Dormammu(meteors are the best thing ever!) but I'm not really enjoying X-23. Anyone have a suggestion to replace her? I was thinking Ironman purely for the triple beam crossover hypers. I'd love to practice some new people later. Send a FR if you wanna spar!
Glad someone else around here follows SRK. But you have the gist of it. Moves come out pretty fast in MvC3. I don't have any frame data, but in SSF4, DP comes out in 3 frames. 14 frames gives you enough time given you have about average reflexes. You just have to find what works for you. In theory, you could just super jump over to Sentinel and there's not too much he can do. From there you can just block if he tries to counter attack then punish, or start up some sort of mixup if he's blocking. Be wary of his DP command grab, but I think it only combos in the corner. Also, 85% in Mission Mode. I have like, 10 characters done, 12 characters with 1, and 9 with 2. Then there's people like Joe and Amaterasu that have 4 and 5 unfinished, respectively.
We played together and he improved considerably in the span of playing each other for an hour or two. I really wanted to learn Viewtiful Joe but couldn't really get the hang of him. But now I think I've settled on a team that'll accentuate him. Joe/Ammy/X-23. Pretty experimental since the plan is to abuse Joe's Viewtiful God Hand with X-23's help for OTG work but I don't have a plan beyond Joe getting KO'd.
From what I've seen, Joe is an air combo-ing projectile fighter. He has bombs, Voomerangs, his Six Machine that can be combo'd into, red hot kicks, and I'm not sure if this applies to him only, since I don't own the game yet, a triple jump. Plus his Mach Speed hyper knocks people into the air. The only time I've seen people attack on the ground in melee with Joe was when they were Slowed. Just somethings I've noticed.
You definitely want to be in the air with Joe, as his triple jump and air dashes make him much more mobile. j.S also crosses up like a champ and makes Zero's j.H look like a flat piece of wood. With both Ammy and X-23, Joe can have a lot of shenanigans going on with Ammy's Cold Star assist helping on cross ups and X-23's Ankle Slicer helping him with unblockable set ups.
I saw Josh Wong launching voomerangs at a ridiculous pace. For some reason the video is private now, though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNqV-AFo5sw I'm not really that good, my friend just doesn't know how to block well yet. He knows how to use level 3 XFC though. And I need to play vs. you guys more. I'm usually doing Arcade or Mission mode, but feel free to send me invites. I'll do the same if I see you guys on. And while I'm at it, I have over 300 done now.
I honestly have the most trouble with people who actually know how to block. Though, to be fair, it's not just the blocking but the forcing me into their pace.
I'm wondering if we shouldn't get an 8-man lobby going for the achievement or something. Just got my which makes my MvC3peen a bit larger in the girth area, and I'm thinking that maxing out the GS on this game will be much easier than I'd expected. Also: Hating weapon change cancels with Ammy. It's a strange new rhythm to properly use a crouching attack to buffer into the weapon change and the link the medium attack to continue the combo. It's reminding me of the time I had to put in to master Viper's FFF; totally alien at first, second nature after 10 hours of concentrated practice on that one mechanic.
I got a lot done yesterday. I wrapped up Arcade Mode, just need to beat it on Very Hard now. I also got the gallery finished, but that's basically just beating Arcade. Lastly, I finally got 320 missions done (88.88%), so I'm feeling pretty accomplished. Now I'm definitely going to start working on my team, and start playing vs. you guys.
every time I wanna beat very hard for someone, I get Arthur on point, Sentinel with sentinel force (charge) assist, the character I intend on beating the game with, 30 second rounds, high damage, and spam projectiles like my life depends on it.
Arthur is hard to make work against the CPU on very hard if you're trying to earn titles, even with Sent on assist. One mistake and he's out 70% of his lifebar. I'd much rather put Sent on point with Chun assist or keep Sent as assist and Dante teleport for free crossup and bnb combo. She-Hulk on point with Sent assist is also good, as She-Hulk has a ton o' ways to land Emerald Cannon for free.
