    Wish they would make a game client for the PS3 now. I feel like us PC players are little more than guinea pigs for experimentation.

    It's kind of sad how now all assassin engagements absolutely require first strike now in mid-late game. Assassin vs assassin combat is particularly painful because if either party has a katana, first strike means certain death for the other assassin, no exceptions.

    Armor was supposed to mitigate the fact that being spotted was certain death and allow more viability in combat. Now, it only matters in the early game before people upgrade. Once skills are upgraded, they're about as lethal as if you had no armor endorsement at all. The only difference is how many normal shots you'll take, and most good assasssins sneak in to the point where skills are more viable counterattacks than some weapons. The difficulty here is that no arena has a sizable amount of space. While it makes it easier for other classes to chase down wily assassins, it's just that reduction in maneuverability and places to hide that brings out the worst in the assassin's reduced durability.




    In other news, I do enjoy the ping display fixes. I do not enjoy how bad the star system is (0 kills, 2 assists, 23 deaths, $1,800 in a 15 minute game is 4 star skill). It deserves to stay, but only after proper calibration. Right now, it is visual litter.

    Also, I fear any upcoming free to play days that were hinted at may cause a massive influx of cheaters as those that were banned can simply make a new steam account and cheat to their heart's delight.

    Can we no longer view players' ranks? Kinda sad - I liked flaunting my dedication to this game...and now that's apparently gone unless I'm mistaken...

    Yeah, I was wondering about player levels as well. Being in my 80's I was getting really close to that prestige and I was excited about it. Now it seems less exciting.

    i don't find armor so super important to be honest, be better if there was no armor to add more variety but ah well

    Although I haven't been to my home computer since the update, does this new rating system take place over the old one, or are both living together? I really wanted to see how levels turned out in the long-run and how my earning rate compared to theirs. I was also fairly close to getting that Slim-Bot rating tier, which was one of the reasons I really wanted to keep playing well.

    As for an Armour effectiveness reduction, the light classes really only felt playable where there was a survivability aspect. I've seen good railgunners recently, and as a light class, with the reductions it seems like i'd be slayed by 2 hits.

    On the server access allowance, why not a minimum star rating as well?
    /insert generic complaint about lack of local servers and if they decide to rate servers, some players may purposely play "bad."

    More gear seems nice, although I'd love to see the Beta gear get specialised taunts too. Although I haven't seen how the selection looks, maybe a Locker Room option to enable/disable specific earned gear from the selection screen would work, although the coding would mean a bunch of user data. In conjunction with the storage on players, it would be good to check it if a bug may mean players would access gear they shouldn't (even though it doesn't make a difference.)

    Railgun does 149 damage per shot.

    Even if you're desperately trying to die from a tank's railgun as a no-armor sin/sniper (300 hp), it still takes 3 shots to die.

    Yea, I'd rather see player ranks than the AllStars stuff

    Also, grapples are still broken.
    I've been grappled by someone over 20ft away, teleported backwards to a grapple that shouldn't have happened(we were 10ft apart facing opposite directions) and had pointblank grapples never connect

    I had people teleporting to me despite being on entirely different levels. It's made me dislike playing immensely.

    The star ranking system is terrible as well. After some time with it, it seems the only way to get a 1-2 star ranking is to do nothing but die an entire match. I've seen people go 3 matches in a row with a .50 KDR with a few bot kills, 1.0 KDR with no bot kills, and a hacker go 35 and 0. These are all four star level scores.

    I think the five star ranks joining servers problem was fixed by making 5 star simply an unattainable rank, as well. Everyone I've seen play will go 5 star for one match and they will never have it again.



    To me? The ranking system is useless. It does not provide any data that can be used in any way, shape, or form.

    Wow, this patch is painful. They are pretty much just shifting the balance of power over to the heavy classes with the armor adjustments. I mean, you are taking the strengths of the heavy class (survivability) and making it even better comparitively to other classes. How come no other endorsement scales to each class? Why doesn't the assassin go even faster with the speed endorsement? Or the sniper get stronger crits? Or the Assaults skills recharge faster with skill pill? I mean, come on uber. If your going to go that route, go all the way instead of screwing every other class.

    Was there a nerf to Assassins damage towards turrets, too? I played 2 matches and it took 5 clips of crit shurikens to take down a firebase instead of the normal 3 it used to. I never got an opportunity to go into the enemy base and attempt to hit their turrets. My team was locked in the base and I wasn't adjusted to the horrible backlash of the armor nerf.

    I guess the whines of the noobs that refuse to learn about the game are heard louder than the actual dedicated players...

    they didn't screw with shurikens, a lot of weapons have issues doing their job properly, when combined with slight spread, lag, and the UT3 engine

    it's like product grenades doing absolutely jack 50% of the time because YOU see your grenade connect, but server-side it apparently went over the top or through a gap in the bots you threw it at, then your cluster grenades spawn in the middle of nowhere

    and shurikens are already glitchy with the reload desync, sometimes they just don't register - you've got to be patient.

    Lets just make everyone die in 3 hits from anything and 1 hit from powerful things, rename the game CoD, and sell it for millions, yeah?

    AIRSTRIKE MAN?!

    Anyways, I think we'll have to wait and see how the patch turns out. It seems like the Assassin lost some of its lone-wolfing capability, which is fine by me. I played a few rounds and didn't really notice much of a difference.
