Hudson, do you know why it is that when an assassin grapples me and I charge the assassin, it is a one hit kill, but when I am in the enemy base juiced, if I charge at an assassin and hit her I never kill her on the charge?

I need to know the following:

-Are you talking about Charging her AFTER her grapple? Or is she INTERRUPTING your charge with a grapple?

    Also:

    -What rank is your charge
-What armor is the assassin wearing

I've never done testing on if Charge 2/3 one-shots Gold Armor assassins. They are knocked down and killed by a death blossom if they ever survive from over-healing/armor.

It took me a while to get used to the patch. Early to mid game I feel very weak. Jet gunning while chasing an opponent and being able to do a full strength Blossom regardless of ammo was a great help pre-patch, and now it seems much harder to close the distance. I ended up creating a gold RoF build to use early game, only switching to the "tanky" build when levelled up.

The improved hit detection also seems to be a nerf to the tank. Gunners and Assaults seem much more lethal at ranges where they used to not bother me. However the rail gun seems a little more unreliable to me. Shooting turrets, and especially firebases, often didn't register a hit where I'm sure it would have pre-patch.

This all adds up to fewer early game kills and less speed pickups too, so mobility is an issue. I'm now wondering whether speed gold or silver is the way to go. Use the mobility to attack enemies from above or behind, which is very effective with the buffed DB. But which of armour, reload or skill recharge do I then drop? Lots more testing needed...

On the subject of live update adjustments to the Tank's Death Blossom after the TU:
So if I'm understanding that correctly, the full clip DB damage was unchanged after the TU, but the decreasing clip damage was working correctly. That would explain why I felt a little nerfed last night. I guess the DB kills I did get would have worked pre-patch too.

When a full health assassin grapples me from behind and I survive, I immediately charge (level 3) and kill the assassin. I don't think an assassin has ever survived me doing this if I hit her, so I don't think their armor matters unless I've just never had a gold armor assassin grapple me.

However, when I am in the enemy base while juiced and I charge an assassin who has full health, I only ever knock them down to about 1/3 health. This has always been with level three charge, and it has happened every time I charge an assassin while juiced, so I don't think they are just overhealed or have gold armor.

Hudson, may i use the same format you did to make my Aggressive Sniper Guide?
I will give you all necessary credit.
Basically what i'm looking to do is copy and paste your work and just fill in what is needed for my guide. It will honestly just be the same format. Just thought i would ask because i was working on it and forgot the fact that you worked hard on this and would maybe not be to keen to me copying you. I will maybe get it up tonight and if you feel i am plagerising your work, i will take it down.

I'll need to do some controlled testing. That should not be happening.

It's kinda funny how Hudson's Guide thread kinda became the general tank discussion thread. There is just so much to read after the TU and I'd like to add some points but I don't know where to begin. I will start by finishing my DeadBots guide after that I will try and read everything and give some feedback. I have no clue why I posted this but oh well.

I'll soon be revising this guide to reflect my thoughts on the tank post patch. So far, with the change to death blossom, Reload Speed is better on LaseRazor than Rate of Fire, unless you are railgunning around 80% of the time (in which case, I would hit up Shammas' guide.)

It is a bit more difficult to justify reload speed at the expense of the other endorsements on the other maps at the moment (for me anyway).

I started playing Hudson's tank build and I got my first uber, as well as 42 kills and some kid screaming at me for always having juice and raping his face. I can never imagine what you go through, Hudson.

Without even reading the guide I played very similarly as tank! It's almost creepy.

I know its mentioned in the thread that you build juice while deployed as the tank.

What ISN'T mention is that deploying in front of a level 3 LazerBlazer is the fastest juice in the game (besides purchase.)

Assuming its focused on you, as soon as your deploy fully activates it takes about 2 seconds to go from empty to full. Stickerz, undeploy, juice rampage. Brilliant :D

I can't wait to try this

And thanks Hudson, your guide changed how I play my tank. I don't get nearly the amount of kills compared to the way I used to play him but I help the team a ton more now. I love my product 3.

Sniper + Explosive Penetrating Rounds + Two Groups of Five Blackjacks = Juice in one shot

And it soon wont be :p

I might also point out your circumstances aren't exactly the most common. Level 3 LB's are actually just about in every game.

No argument there, just wanted to point out the actual quickest juice in the game.

Well, you are right too. So we have the hierarchy as this:

#1 Sniper Passive 3 vs huge blackjack wave
#2 Tank deployed in front of level 3 lazerblazer
#3 Sniper vs normal bot wave
    #4 Assassin vs bot wave

    That sound about right?
