All of this was confirmed upon testing. Gold rate of fire and bronze skill recovery are still king by far. :)

the best part about the tank is shooting you in the butt while your in the spawn with explosive rounds.

Oh dear God, this forum is about to get rolled. Now I can actually say "Zander" and people will know who I'm talking about.

Yah been rolling with a gold and silver speed tank last couple days. Definitely liking it. You lose out on the armor but make up for it in speed as they don't see you making it so close to them that fast. I love guys who try to backpedal now as they can't stay out of range...I make it up.

I tried Silver Speed and I can say it's not for me. I am so used to Silver Reload that I end up spamming left trigger trying to pull off my Death Blossom.

I'd like to try increasing my rate of fire or adding speed, but I just can't get myself to remove my reload speed.

A tank without the silver/gold rate of fire is going to die much more. It's just a fact of life. It's a huge huge huge benefit to tanks.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you depending on reload speed for? Very rarely will you need to death blossom a bot wave twice, and product 3's cluster bombs do more than enough damage to soften overhealed waves for a single blossom.

Against Pros, blossom is always a finisher rather than an opener, so I don't see the benifit to reload speed there, as you can do more damage spraying 3/4 of your clip before blossoming. (Prior to patch)

    I find the tank NEEDS:
    -Rate of Fire
    -Skill Recovery

    The tank WANTS (Pick one):
    -Armor
    -Speed
    -Reload Speed

IMO: Speed will save you more than armor ever will, unless you are somehow having trouble vs assassins as a Tank :p.

It is not an easy transition, however. :(

I'll have to respectfully disagree Hudson simply because it's how YOU play. I find that the tank NEEDS Reload Speed the way I play. The Tank WANTS Rate of Fire (insert clever reason)

The reason I use Armor is because I tend to be in the middle of all the chaos. Imo Gold Armor saves me more the any Speed. And yes there are many times where a second death blossom is needed to finish off some bots. For example a big group of bots or the stonger bots later in the game.

What Hudson fails to take into account for other tanks is he has become preternaturally gifted at NOT taking damage. He doesn't need armor. And if he has Greggyyyy playing with him...well, say goodnight Gracie.

Oh, I know its how I play, thats the whole "I find the tank needs" part. :) I meant to put.

I can come to terms with everything but needing to death blossom more, since product 3's cluster bomb + a blossom will accomplish the same thing (while stunning them, preventing the advance and taking unanswered damage from any resistance your team may be offering). If anything ever survives, I melee it for the extra juice anyway, or Charges away and turn + railgun if its too dangerous to stay close by.

In the end, its all personal preference. :)

Many times I end up getting caught by someone before finishing my opponent, so my death blossom becomes a finisher and a starter. I don't want to be sitting there reloading when I could just pull out another death blossom or jet gun them to death.

I think I'm going to try the rate of fire for a bit, against my better judgement.

Alright, I tried it. I liked it in the beginning, but as I kept playing, I got caught reloading many times. I probably wasn't playing him right, but I didn't feel comfortable without the fast reload. I also reload constantly, so that was probably a factor. I did like the faster jet gun destruction though.

Are you using the rail gun fairly often as well? The rail gun rate of fire is the main reason for choosing Total Recoil.

Chronic Reload Syndrome can Cripple a Tank or Gunner, especially if you are used to fast reloads. Don't try to double death blossom any targets unless you are juiced. You can also use product grenade and charge 3 to buy you some time to reload if they are off cooldown.

Honestly, I don't use the railgun too much. I use it when I'm killing things from afar and I'm trying it with the moneyball (it's working out alright). But otherwise, I'm close to my targets.

I try not to use double death blossoms, it's generally not a good idea. Have you tried gold reload speed though? It's extremely fast.

I just can't live without gold rate of fire and silver speed anymore. Reloading isn't an issue because an enemy should be dead in that first clip (I use bronze crits). I just find I live more often as I am getting to the enemy quicker then prior so they can't react as well. The quicker I get to them, the quicker they die and the less shots they fire.

Also, backpedalers are finding they can't back outta range so easily anymore either.

Always being 1 pick up away from max speed is just indescribably good for the tank. I really need a capture card to show the differences in what you can pull off, but you've described a good portion of why it is amazing. :)

Am I the only Tank that uses gold Skill Regen? You can use the product grenade really fast and you can charge almost every 4 seconds.

    Gold: Skill Regen
    Silver: Armor
    Bronze: Rate of Fire

It seems to work pretty well.
