Hmm. Of course, in these cases a crafty Assassin could smoke bomb up to the glass, Juice and fill you with Shurikens. Then in the 8 second window she has left she could lunge down, smoke bomb, and start slashity slash slashing away. Granted, this -is- a 3.3 we're talking about...so I could be wrong. I must test this when I next play.

The word "turrents" is the only thing in a long while that prompted me to actually come out of my forum hiatus to actually POST something. (what's it been, a few months already?)

As any veteran here will tell you, I <3 me some turrents, but don't think of them as non-sentient beings that kill people. Instead, think of them like pet, or one of your own offspring... that kills people. In order to keep them alive, you need to plan ahead (proper turrent placement), keep them healthy (heal), and support their growth (hacks/upgrades). Then, later on in their 15-minute lives, they will appreciate all that you have done for them them, and pay you back. In BLOOD. Out of LOOOOOOVE.

Might have to go back on MNC sometime now. All this turrent talk has gotten me frisky...

Making good use of a turret can require a pro or two's attention to keep it alive. This can be easily accomplished when you're on the back foot and I sometimes turtle around them for the occasional game just because it is enjoyable, but if you have any interest in winning against half-baked opponents you need to press the offensive, if you're lucky the enemy will be so busy defending that they might not kill the turret. turrets can't help you at the enemy moneyball, learn to let them go, well, maybe you can slip in a sneaky little hack. under their ring.

I can't wait for the map editor to come out, I really want to play around with the concept of Neutral turrent nubs.

That might make enemy turret hacking useful.

    Neutral nubs would be sweet.

I'll uprade to a lvl 3 and hack it if I have my skills maxed or we're on our heals. Unless we already have a defensive Support though, I rarely buy any turrets. With the current Assassin juicing ability, they're fodder for any noob who can randomly pull a trigger.

I play offensive Support, I don't like turtling. It just feels like losing slowly. If I see that my teammates have invested in turrets, I'll do my best to keep them alive. I've almost perfected my airstrike/grapple for the juicers, but I still dont trust the grapple.

Hino made a excellent thread somewhere around here about neutral turret nubs around the center of a map

any halfway smart player will realize that public matches play entirely different than private matches, therefore private match logic such as teamwork and map control dont always apply in a public match.

then said halfway smart player would take his privates-are-different-than-pubs logic and not talk about competative strategies in reference to a public game.

that being said, i think our pals cymode and chiefy get the short end of the stick on the whole "halfway smart" thing.

    ------

also neutral turrets are a bad idea. that would make map control impossible to regain in public matches.
