I think single-unit transports are inherently more awesome, because you can see the scary army on the radar.

Also, 90 is really cheap. One could easily and quickly field a small fleet of transports to supercharge your raiding or make an early drop, much like getting a Medevac or two in Starcraft 2.

The cheap cost and (assuming) high speeds is going to be awesome.

Just wanted to reiterate this. I would really like to see a Ferry command implemented for the transporter to ease the burden of transporting units over great distances. I was also thinking the Asterous could potentially use this mechanic if we selected two planets and did area commands over where we wanted units to get dropped off at.

Try building an air factory first and make a lot of fighters. You can also use them for scouting and to support your expansion bases and land units. It means you have to hold off on making your fabbers for a minute, but your commander can work on eco in the meantime so that you can support more fabbers when you do get them. It's a whole new game, but it may not be completely broken.

You will have one or two more fighters than them if you do it right. There is luck involved in shooting down the commander, but you can usually do it if you're paying attention.

If they do get their commander in your base, try to stand your commander in front pf power gens to keep them alive. You need them for the uber cannon. If you have fabbers, build some walls to hide your commander behind. You can shoot over them but the other commander's gun might hit the walls.

This is a hard attack to beat, but it can be done often enough to make good players afraid to try it often.
