Laser platform insta-snipes are a bummer

    I feel the fact that SXX can hit moving commanders to be a non-issue at the moment. Sure an SXX can outrun a commander, but unless they are really close to the commander upon entry, they will still be shot down by a few umbrellas. That is, unless there are a *lot* of SXX. In that case I am not certain that making the change you propose would achieve your goal if the SXX just attacked ground on entry, as that could still be very lethal.

    This isn't to say I don't find the idea of SXX as building destroyers interesting, but rather that I think the issue is a bit more complex and SXX sniping doesn't have to be easy to pull off even in their current state.

    An AI got away from me, and I didn't have adv. orbital.

    But 214 grendiers, fabbers, and combat fabs dropped on his head worked just as well. I can approximate the number of grenedeirs at 160 as my mobile count went from 820->660 in the commander explosion; you can get 166 grenadiers in astraues for the price of 5 lasers, not counting the cost of the orbital fabber and factory, and even this much looks like overkill.

    Except that Astreus is very much vulnerable to simple AA. A few flak cannons and Astreus stops working this way.

    It is the most OP yet obscure and underused thing in the game.
    Number of fixes. Honestly, one could just make them have a preparation animation to even take a shot even if their energy is charged. It is a mild nerf, if you got them over the enemy anyway they can more than likely take the shot anyway.

    I honestly don't see the problem. You really did just have a bad day. But if your enemy took the time to build 5 SSXs and scout your commander and you did nothing to counter him. Then I'm sorry but you made a mistake. the SSX is already very expensive and takes a long time to make, he had 5. To me that just seems like a legit victory. Not a balance issue. My point is there is nothing wrong with the SSX, you just need to know how to counter it.
