    Hi there,

    I have read a couple of articles, but haven't seen a definintive answer. How do you go from Bronze to Silver in the rankings? Do you have to be top 1 or 2 in bronze before going up? I am currently 3rd but not sure what I have to do. Also is there any way of checking the win/loss ratio? (I know mine was not great initially)

    Divisions are just trick, you can move from #15 bronze to silver in one game if you just win enough good ranked enemy.
    If elo or something similar system is familiar to you, you can think divisions like this
    Bronze <= 1500
    Silver 1500 - 1600
    and so on, I don't know what that boundary really is but it goes like that AFAIK.

    edit: To be clear, PA isn't using elo, its using modified Glicko 2

    The PA ladder isn't really a ladder in the usual sense. It's a rating system essentially. You go up by (consistently) beating opponents higher than you. Beating someone lower or of equal skill won't make any difference, and your exact position is pretty much meaningless as it works on a hidden skill rating.

    If you want to see how you've been doing (and look at a more traditional ladder) I'd highly recommend installing the 'PA:Stats' mod which is available on PAMM.

    That will allow you to view all your games on the PA:Stats website and will also auto log them on paladder.com.

    An important thing to note is that the more you play the more "known" glicko thinks your ranking is and the less volatile your ranking will be. Playing less means you will jump up and down the rankings more.
    In my case I had a lot of work one week and went inactive, then when I came back and won a bunch of ranked games including against Plat #1 I jumped all the way up to Gold 52.
    Hold on, I started at gold 50.

    went from rank 8 bronze to rank 261 silver yesterday with one match ... so no need to place rank 1 first ...
