You've made some valid points. In my world, every time we make an investment in something, whether it's a startup or established corporation, we expect a certain return on investment (ROI). As such, I'm not accustomed to things like Kickstarter where funds are "freely" given out to others in support of their activity, with little to no expectation of the funded amount returned plus interest.
