Id just like to point out that this is an unspecified but large time in the future, where not only is computing power beyond ubquitous, massive wars are fought between completely artificial intelligences. Plotting an intercept course for one asteroid to hit another is childs play in comparison.

Or just pull up along side and start beating the heck out of each other, both are cool.

Computation may be easy, but you still need to push yourself, and matching speed and orbit still will require a lot of delta V on some really big objects.

Not saying impossible, just saying hitting stuff is easier than pulling along side when you start far apart.

One big asteroid can destroy entire planet. Few small ones can't. The asteroid from trailer had 7 engines, but what if you put 7 engines on different tiny asteroids?

Also, maybe I want to send them on enemy planet, but not now. Or maybe enemy planet is a gas giant that is harder to seriously damage. Or enemy is on one planet with my friend.

Actualy its really easy. You simply forget the fact its not a human doing the calculations but a computer. For a computer you wont even notice your fps drop its that easy.
