I've actually seen a map editor similar to that in a different game based on the 'cube' engine (a student project) but I can't actually remember the name of the game... one sec...

Found it!: http://sauerbraten.org/ This is kinda awesome actually :)

I don't know- I watched a 30 minute to 60 minute video showing off the editor, multi player editor in fact. It's perfect, it's what I wish every fps game had, because I'm such an editor freak!

I love making custom maps, the rendering took a while for lighting but that's totally understandable... it is prealpha after all, and just... The lighting in the game is quite nice, the engine does multiple bounces, if a light is shining on a red wall it reflects or bounces down to the grown leaving a red tinted shadow. All the game play mechanics are old, I know, but why not go for a graphically enhanced version of an old favorite? With a built in editor that's filled with functionality already, and that live replay feature.

I backed at the 70 Aus dollars (60 US, probably like... 40 or 50 pounds) because I wanted to get into the very earliest version. But... KS is failing. D:

Edit: Also it's cool to finally see an Australian game. :>

I'm not saying it's a bad game- I've only watched the main video, however *that* video doesn't really show me anything very novel so I think they've screwed their pitch up a bit sadly- you shouldn't have to go digging to find the good bits!

I mean if you watch the intro to Cube 2 (link I gave) the maps and such look *more impressive* despite the fairly dated texture / lighting systems. The map editor in there was also shown in great detail towards the end of the vid- it works a bit like minecraft and some of the example maps are *huge*.

I'll have to take a closer look at Reflex though. Damn you squishy all these kickstarters are going to bankrupt me!

Haha, it's editor is nice because you don't really place a block and build. You place something then stretch it to your liking, if you want it to be slanted in *any* way you can actually edit the verts on it to make whatever kind of deformed cube you'd like. :p

Also terribly sorry everyone for super off topicness XD

It's a complicated subject at this point, if you have access to the Backer's Lounge you can find out more about the current situation by reading this post and the remaining posts in the thread.

If you don't send me a PM and I'll give you the details that way, this goes for anyone interested who doesn't have access to the Backer's Lounge, not just TerrorScout.

The most important point thought is that at this point, the Tyrant will almost certainly not be appearing in PA and another design will be taking it's place. I do have plans to make use of the design outside of PA thought..
