Ideas for Next Expansion

    yeah, the current galactic war campaign are boring when all you do is just jumping from system to system while collecting tech card. something like SupCom single player campaign or TA intensive war report.

    and also PA units and building true size is same as their in-game size. CITY SIZED TANK FTW !!

    For those people who want nebulas, how would they work? Are they just an orbital layer over no land? We already have gas giants for that. If not gas giants what would they be?

    Not according to Jables in the questions thread. Apparently fan feedback changed development priorities away from multiplayer GW. Who knows why...

    Can't tell if this is sarcasm or serious. I think the OP meant a new unique faction, with different units, not just a different name.

    And Id rather if they even bother to make a whole new faction (A bad idea) that they make one for the existing factions.

    Not sure if good idea or just mind fart, but...

    A Starship Troopers style bug faction. (or dinosaurs, hells yeah dinosaurs!)

    Commander = Queen

    All unit production is done by specialised units (let's say Sub Queens).
    Different Sub Queen types for water, air, ect.
    Structure production is done by Queen/Sub Queen/workers
    Structures provide tech advances (eg. all Sub Queens upgrade to t2 unit production, but revert if tech structure is destroyed)

    The goal would be to create a more mobile army to counter the current factions (robots) more static nature.

    So the robots defensive structures would be strong against the bugs, but succumb to a massive onslaught...

    Or maybe you could make the units deploy (mutate) into the structures...

    Or something. :)

    Also, Gap generators and spies ala C&C/RA.

    i actually had a similar thought a while ago, and it would certainly be cool on one small to medium sized planet, but any more than that it would get super annoying commanding loads of mobile factories on multiple planets would be a pain in the neck.
    i think that if you really wanted a bug faction in vanilla PA you would want one thats manageable on any scale the base faction is.
    so i would suggest a faction based more around being super static and slow but nigh unstoppable expansion, like real bugs. the commander would be a big monster of a bug that can alternate between entrenched and flying, that can build units n buildings within int sphere of influence (while entrenched, they build stuff like the soviets from RA3), having the fabricators working in a similar way. factories would be mounds of dirt and stone that birth hordes of shite but free units in groups(think modified chinese from AOE 3)
    in orbit they would have exclusively massive units, more leaning on the naval side of the air/naval mix feel the base faction has, with no actual satellites. no unit cannon, but rather "orbital paratroopers" that launch out of a somewhat weak orbital barge.
    naval units are mostly melee, if you ever saw ants fighting, youll have a pretty good idea of what im getting at. basically most of them (excluding the battleship and healing barge) have a little bit of crumby AA that adds up through the whole fleet, and they would instead of using direct fire weapons latch onto and "wrestle" with the enemy ships doing damage fastish constantly as long as its latched on.
    air would almost entirely work like the typhoon, with hives placed around the place and in the water, they would launch hordes of fighter-bombers (presumable with an a-move, similar to lobs) that have an alright life span, as well as heavy bomber "blimps" that have an indefinite life span, low health and absurd dammage.
    i dont really use air too much in PA, so my thoughts here arent as well developed.

    In half a year or so i want to make original TA campaign - maps. In "Core Contingency", there is a planet named "Temblor" and it has "Slate" biome, that i miss in PA. It's something like "gas" biome with solid surface.

    "Temblor is a highly unstable world, its tectonic plates constantly shifting and colliding, resulting in spasmotic earthquakes. The misshapen landmasses are divided by vast bottomless chasms that vent noxious gases from somewhere far below, and asteroid fragments fall in sporadic showers. However, Temblor also possesses abundant Metal resources, compensating for its many hazards."

    This I'd like it very much.

    But Dune II was a small game compared to what we got used with time, and Dune is a planet. So perhaps it would fit the theme having a campaign all over a good planet sized appropriately. Just one. But big enough.
