They're too unreliable for me. If the gunner/tank is deployed, they're my go-to weapon. If they're not, forget it. I have stood a foot away from a Firebase and pumped a whole clip of stars into it, changed NOTHING - not my aim, not my position - and the ENTIRE second clip has gone right through with no damage at all. It's happened enough that I don't bother with them unless the target's stationary or I feel like spamming something.

Being the best assassin in the world, I'll provide two protips:

    1) Leave cloak at 1. If you know what you're doing, you shouldn't need Cloak 2's extended cloaking time, and Cloak 3's critical shurikans simply aren't worth the $550 it costs to get to them. Save yourself the money and just start buying juice that much earlier.

    2) non-juiced shurikans are only useful against fireturrets and deployed enemies. Otherwise, stick to the katana in almost all non-juiced instances.

    Meh.

Hope he's joking anyway (if you do, work harder) because that is a pretty stupid thing to write seeing as how you can't really make comparisons.

I'm pretty sure he was kidding. I mean, I'm the best assassin in the world. How could he say he is?

I disagree with this. Shurikens are always awesome when you get good with them. Spamming them in someones general direction will almost always net you an assist. Actually aiming at slow target will usually net you a kill. Gunners aren't fast enough to dodge them reliably, and tanks are slower. A good tank will usually be able to charge out of the critstorm that is your shurikens but with barely enough health to be useful(barring clutch passives).

Your way works for a quick win. When the other team know what they're doing cloak gets used much more often, and free crits never hurt. If it looks like I can net a quick win, I forget about cloak. Only then though.

And the firebase thing is obnoxious. I only get that problem with firebases though, never turrets/players.

I have to say, I haven't used it very much on players. Early on, I found that particular problem with Shuriken and stopped using it for much save turrets/spam/deployed pros. I've never seen a clip go through a deployed gunner/tank, so I suppose I should use them more. I do watch other `sin's Shurikens go right through me quite often, though.

Obligatory: F**king Firebases, how do they work?! :<

Shurikan Spam against a sniper pretty well shuts him down. They don't usually kill, but are often dangerous enough for the Sniper to turn his attention away from other pros.

I had a stellar 30 minute match recently.

I did not win as there was no juice buying but I played like a boss.

    Firebases? Please...

    Jackbots? Feh...

    Moneyball? Better watch its back...

Inattentive players? Can you say lunge grapple?

    I feel great!

I know exactly the kind of match you're talking about, and it's why I main Assassin.

Charge through some bots, dash behind cover, chargegrapple the idiot that chases you, rush over and gank some bots and irritate their escorts into following you into some teammates and a firebase, get some assists, juice up, gank the turrets and the respawning pros, etc etc etc. The ability to go from absolutely destroying one thing/person somewhere to doing the same to someone/something on the other side of the map in a heartbeat is wonderful.
