    so far most people want a league which is doable.

    I still feel like we should just have 2-3 tournaments prior to starting the league.
    in order to gauge the interest and potential league structure.
    e.g. spliting NA and EU and creating divisions

    suggested server settings are:
    * Bot Buying: On
    * Class Changes: On
    * Custom classes: On
    * Hazards: On
    * Juice Buying: On
    * Mascot: On
    * Team select: On
    * Auto Balance: Off
    * Force Random Class: Off
    * Min Players: 12
    * Round Time: 15 min
    * Overtime: On 2 min
    * No class limits

    other settings:
    * All matches are 6v6 with a Best of 3 matches winning condition.

    Assuming we get enough teams the league could start. i am not sure at this stage when that would be. Hopefully sooner than later.
    The league would be split in "playdays" a playday actuallt last a week ie teams will have a week to play there match.
    You know in advance the schedule as the league is round robin.

    on our platform we have the option to set a double round robin i.e. teams meet twice and playoffs. basically a tourney at the end of the league.

    should we have any of that? double round robin and playoff? just thinking ahead.

    anything else?

    wait till there's at least 20 teams that are interested for a league imo, and make it an 8 week season, 1-2 matches a week, and a double elimination bracket.

    One question about results reporting: should we make it mandatory to provide a screenshot of the victory mssage?

    You don't do double eliminations in a league, that's tournament.

    In a league everyone plays everyone and at the end you have playoffs for a season champ. :roll:

    I think he meant double round robin which is double in a league.
    basically the teams meet twice so there is a rematch! this could be good :)

    I'm liking the rules. 6v6 As well is also good.
    Looking forward to when this is official :D

    I'm talking to cybergamer.com.au to try also put a Monday Night Combat ladder in for the Australians and also other countries if they wish to enter.

    Came up with a couple of ideas while talking to iamKira that he wanted me to post here so we didn't forget it.

    1 - if all teams are playing each other twice, have a "home" and an "away" team. These teams will swap the 2nd match. So if TeamA was home in match 1, they'd be away in match 2. Home team gets to pick which server they want to play in, away team gets to pick the first map that's played.

    2 - Have a designated day of the week to play matches, most likely a weened since we're starting with one league without regard to geographic location.

    Yes.

    See? I can also post things with no explanation as to why it is or isn't a good idea. :ugeek:

    You know in the big world of economics and fridge-filling work there are people who just can't commit a fixed day to play the officials, being able to schedule around work is the way to go.

    You know in the big world of different time zones and 8-10 people trying to schedule things it's better to have a known date/time to play your matches so you know plenty ahead of time to schedule around it.

    yea sorry I worded that badly, I meant an 8 week season, with 1-2 matches a week and a double elimination playoff bracket for the top 4/8 teams. And I agree with the default time, don't make it mandatory, but you need a default time so if 2 teams can't agree to a time there is something to fall back on. Other wise the match would never get played and would drag the season/tourny out forever. Just look at the way esea does it, it works fine for them.

    What about cheating accusation and match contestattion.

    Should we make it mandatory to upload a screenshot of the victory/loss message?
    Should this be mandatory only for the team contesting the reported result?

    Cheating accusation will be hard to prove How do we get around that?
    There is no cash involve at this stage so hopefully we will keep the bad guys outside.

    Both teams should upload the screenshots not just the winner/loser. Contestation is another matter.

    Accusations are quite the delicate topic for now due to the lack of adequate control mechanisms so we should stay put on that topic at least for the time being.

    update 1: we where 1 team down so the tournament didn't go ahead

    update 2: what do you want to do next? we can either
    a) try to get another tourney going
    b) get some ladder games going
    c) set up a league
    how many teams do we havee committed to this?

    Mine is 1.

    I'd still like to see league play, personally, but I'd settle for a ladder.

    Our guys are almost ready for competitive play.

    heya guys. a friend of mine suggested the following in order to help teams playing:
    - the minum number of required players per teams should be 4. In the event the team doesnt have all the six players required then two pugs to complete the team.

    what do you think?

    I think that letting 2 randoms have an influence on the result of a game is not a display of teamwork or team skill and therefore invalidating the results of a league or ladder.

    You are right. i removed the random.
    but even if it's two pubs properly chosen that still doesnt really make it a team.

    as team members usually train together etc..

    is your feeling that it should be 6 teams players or nothing?
    i.e. No pugs in any circumstances?

    PUGs are fine, just not for organised ladders (unless you turn 6 randoms into a mix team that stick together) and leagues.

    For PUGs I'd like to refer to #mncmix (quakenet) as they seem to be having trouble fielding enough players for regular pickups (server, bot etc. is all ready as far as I've heard)

    Shoutout to awpteamoose for dedicating his time towards such projects.
