I have 6800 total Reach games played, 250 are custom. Reach gave no real incentive to play them in the first place. The only time I ever tried custom games personally was to check out some racetracks people made. One loop, done, back to Matchmaking.
Bro. It's just killcams. It's really not as big of a deal as you're making it out to be. Now, if there's reach bloom, THEN you have **** to worry about. I'll admit, I haven't been following Halo 4 too much. But if I know Halo, the bad players will get punished. I played Halo up until Reach. I was bad, and I knew it. I didn't stand a chance against good players, even in Halo 3. That's the way it's supposed to work. Have a little faith, dude. Don't fly off the handle over something so minuscule.
And killcams are the only thing from CoD I had hoped other games take eventually. I'm really happy Halo's doing it.
Killcams do nothing in halo. If anything they hurt the person who died. First there are no supressed weapons nor is stealth a big factor in halo. second, any competent competitive player always knows where they died from. Bullet trail from snipers and hit detection arrows plus map knowledge, the constant calling out usually provides everyones location anyway. you should always know where u died from. If u get out BRd or 4shot and dont know where the person is, u have bigger problems than the killcam. Better players would use their death screen to call out additional things happening around their bodies because watching a teammate is pointless, already one set of eyes in that spot. In any event I hope it's an option that can be turned off, but death cams in no way will help the dying person.
Also the competitive 4v4 of pros playing it has no death cams, so it's either an option to toggle, or not in MLG gametypes, and that's all I'm concerned with
Played Reach last night and OMG, the campaign was so boring. It felt like playing RE: ORC / RE 6. But I do think that Halo takes more skill than MNC or CoD.
The game will probably be awesome in MLG, you'll be able to get rid of all the kill cam and armor ability stuff.
Saw some review where the guy was constantly slamming this game for not having "modern shooter mechanics" like iron sights and other CoD mechanics. I have my own problems with Halo, mostly down to lack of ability to keep me challenged and interested longer than two weeks, but good god.
Interested, maybe, but challenged, unless this is in reference to the campaign i can safely say nobody from this site will be among the best players in halo 4. Multiplayer challenge is actually my favorite part of halo over other games. Not that i was ever among the best in other shooters, but there is always a larger of very good competitive halo players compared to other shooters. from what i have seen and read they are also returning the level up/down ranking system like 2 & 3. no more matchmaking games of MLG vs headless chickens and quitters like in reach and other shooters
Well, Newegg shipped my order, so I should be playing within 3 days. Halo is one of few console games I try to get consistent team mates and use voice comm. If anyone wants to add me: XBL: Hostile Paradox
For those who have this game: 1. Is the bloom as terrible and lopsided like it was in Reach? 2. Are the maps at least decent? 3. Are the AA's as irritating as they we're in Reach? 4. Is it better than Reach overall? 5. Is this a game you'd play months from now?
