2004 IIRC was when a demo of a fully destructable building was shown to public. It was cancelled so it wouldn't interfere with sales of another in house project, Battlefield. Battlefield was not going to have to share sales, it is entirely different game types. Ren is not a military shooter deathmatch type thing. It is an tactical objective based thing. Even battlefield objective modes aren't that objective, anyone who plays CoD S&D knows it ain't about the bomb, it is about 1 life takedown team vs team. It is elimination.
