Remember SupCom. When you lost radar coverage on units, the radar symbol would remain, but it went grey, indicating that you are merely seeing an echo, or ghost of the unit, not a live entity. Gaining radar/vision coverage of the ghost either removed or confirmed it.

Plus, whenever you had sight on a unit, the icon would remain uncovered even after you lost sight, it would not return to anonymous blip.

For units with such remarkable tracers or firing behaviors, it would actually be a no-brainer to reveal them fully whenever they are firing. Any observant player can read the tracers, so hiding informations the player can already know about is pointless.

    For buildings? Yeah.

    And only for buildings.

And I dunno about revealing units that are easily tracked by us, because that's a skill a player picks up, and I prefer it to stay a play skill rather then a automated thing.

    It's necessary.

"Insane micro clickfest" and "loosing track of what's happening" are the two most criticized issues with the current game, only topped out by "no offline play", "no sav feature" and "galactic war sucks".

A game of this scale can't be about watching for tiny features like tracers when it forces you to stay zoomed out for most of the game anyway. Especially when these tracers are fading and the game forces you to focus on multiple fronts in a quick succession so you are somewhat doomed to miss out on some.

Even shooters(!!!) like World of Tanks are providing you with more informations on your enemy than PA does right now.

Yes, being able to tell units apart by movement speed, tracer color or alike is a skill. But PA is neither a rhythm game nor is it a hidden object game. It's an RTS which promises an epic scale, which contradicts haven "features" in the game which require you to visually identify tiny features which you normally wouldn't even notice.

And there's another point: It's information which is trivial to extrapolate for the client. It's subject to cheating like some micro focused players like to call corresponding mods. And you really don't want the amount of mods installed to decide about your performance in battle...
