I looked at most of those, and they are mostly pretty bad and don't break the game down into core concepts and don't explain things.

FWIW, I spoke with a friend of mine who is a designer at a lost cost dev house and he suggested I use Unity and could help with that and it is only $1500. Another friend specifically told me to NOT use Havok because it might a free license, but they are being looked at very closely by Autodesk since they are bundling Autodesk stuff with their kit which could result in a injunction to free developers in the near future...I know the guy, his job is to make a company's life hell so I am going to steer clear of it.

Well all the power to you... hope it works and if you need a beta tester or something let me know.

Also what are you going to release this on?
pc? xbox arcade? steam? psn? xbox indie?
Before you try anything with microsoft read their contracts etc and don't jump gun...
Steam is hands down the best for indie developers unless you try xbox indie but its all programming in c+ etc...

Also you could check for some other members to team up and help with things..
theres also many many free websites for sound effects and music.. this is how leboyd games got its big break with breath of death etc...

Also the price will effect your sales... most 80 point games are the biggest hits and sell extremely well. A friend of mine is working on action arcade wrestling 2 for xbox indie and this thing will rival no mercy on n64 in some ways.
