For Backers Only: Metal Planet Iteration

Noticed that too.

I like both, so hopefully some planets will have them and others won't.

Yeah some variety would be nice and I really liked those crevasses.

Looking great! I like all the little metal plateaus going on. They make me think of TA metal maps in a good way.

I also miss the chasms that divided up the planet. I think they would make awesome defensive rings, especially if there were only a few bridges across them. Especially if there were no air units on planets like this with no atmosphere. Epic trench warfare!

Death laser/engine/thing/polar cap looks awesome though!

I was hoping there'd be some form of homage to Black Sun

Another idea:

Putting some Metal planets behind each other (with the weapon facing the same side ofc)
and firing the LaZor the weapon could become stronger

I doubt there will be more than one in a system, so the likelihood of having more than one to line up is extremely slim.

Now it just blows up the sun and wins the game. Then it automatically pulls out and lights a cigarette for the Commander once it's done.

I want to smash an asteroid on that polar cap to see what happens with the weapon (if it is there)

This makes me thinking about how will craters look like on metal planets

All we can do is hope Lucas Arts doesn't find this.

Theory; You get ahold of [blah] metal planets and blast a sun. Causes a supernova, wiping out the system and all of the metal planets involved

How exactly does a simply energy blast cause a supernova, especially in a star that may not be large enough to do so?

And even on on that can, to adequately also move away enough as to not be consumed by the red giant that precedes such a explosion?

And you know.....survive such a nova to make such a weapon viable?
