It's supposed to be that way? I had assumed mobile units were building it. In that case I think it's good.

well then i guess that nullifies my thought of it needing to be about 20% bigger, but i'm looking at it in scale with the battleship.

and apart from the extra work(a valid reason in and of itself), would a gantry be a bad idea for a megabot-of-interesting-and-violent-death? (i dislike the idea of constructors building it out in the field)

Some people just won't get happy until they get units that are the size of planets.
Luckily this might be the game for them.

If this unit is included in game, can we rename the game to "Stompy Bots"?

So.. what am I looking at Neutrino?

It's a larger robot with bigger guns?

    Okay...

    And?

Scale wise it's okay... but what might it do... other than be big and shoot guns?

No offense, but did you read the OP or skip to the pics? I think Garat was quite clear about what it is.

No, he wasn't. It's a big robot. And?

    In what context?

So... just visually? It's a big Robot.

    I don't care.

What does it DO? What is its purpose? How does it differ from the other Robots? What's Special about it other than "Big"

I think it has too many guns. The "hip" guns look ridiculous, it's over balance on the top and the arms are too big and don't do anything.

Are the Arms Guns or what? It they are just arms what is it doing with them? they are too big for arms. If they are guns It has too many guns.

Reminds me of the Warlord Titans from Wh40k, which I liked quite a lot. Could be a bit taller, but it's ok :)

This isn't anything to do with a Megabot's ROLE, just the visual aspect of scale.

Ok Mike, it sure is bigger than those other robots. I hope it isn't overpowered... oh wait, not important...

    It's big alright!

I'm leaning towards a tad too big personally: it doesn't look like anything is going to be able to transport it (other than that nice set of gams).

The whole point is that this ISN'T about balance or role. So trying to critique it based on that is pointless.

    What is its role?
How does it accomplish this role?
    How can it be defeated?
Most importantly: How does it MOVE between worlds?

Working out a unit's arbitrary scale(note: Any unit can have ANY kind of scale) is kind of premature if the weapon doesn't make sense within the game.

Ok, here are my thoughts on it as a visual and practical design.

The Robot is Big. It has many weapons.

It looks overbalanced towards the top, I imagine it having stability issues unless the top-half is hollow. At which point this is just a tall, broad target.

By virtue of being big it has become a big target, and the weapons it caries are now all in one big basket ready to all big blow up at the same time. This seems big inefficient for big robots seeing as multiple big weapons on separate chassis would present smaller targets and a greater diversity of targeting opportunities. When one is lost, not all are lost.

So, what I'm saying is that it has too many guns to be practical.

    The design looks impractical.

I think the Real-Time Strategy options for all units being nano-bots are ...

    extremely small.

    eeeeeeee.

    I like the size.

It's weapon place holders seem reminiscent to that of both the king kriptor and the krogath.

Personally Id love to see that unit as being a commander, or as a kind of commander upgrade to really promote them as your army's king/queen piece.

On a side note, I really like the direction you are going with the heavy tank. :D

    New Tank!

As to the mega bot, I dislike it, and am worried about it's effects on the game. If larger bots are needed, I would like something more akin in scale to the Commander vs smaller units, maybe slightly taller. They should be bruiser units, not one-man armies, or it will readily devolve into the experimental warware we see in Sup Com, where normal armies become useless and irrelevant once a single experimental is up.
