    Re: New Team

since grand prize ppl want the top team to split up. i enjoy teaming with people im friends with and play with frequently. the other 2+ teams are easily competitive enough to keep up with this team, why not just play and improve (if you feel you need to to compete with this lineup) than regularly complain about a stacked team? it seems like people say they want competition, but when competition is in front of them, what they really meant to say is they want good people on their team to make their team good because they dont want to do it themselves or with the people on it

this is not a knock at you ben, you're probably the best player on your team and make it competitive, but i feel this has been the general feel of the crowd for awhile now. dont complain your team doesnt have enough "good/top players" compete and become one (this message is for everyone)

Understood, count me out than, still open for private if by miracle you can get twelve players together. Best of luck with getting scrims together.

I think the issue is there aren't enough people to have balanced or even multiple teams to scrim with. It's not an issue of teams, but more of the community.

I think there's enough people, it's just that they won't want to play against certain teams because they may lose. If they kept playing against said teams however they will get better and would have a good chance at beating them.

I honestly don't care about winning or losing. I actually prefer to lose in a close and competitive game than win by stomping another team. However, I have no interest in serving as target practice.

MNC had all the potential in the world to be a great fun competitive game. Just not enough people willing to make it work. As teapot said in another thread, i myself would pay full retail price for a console sequal to this game, i felt it was that good. Hopefully sometime this community or maybe the next good class based shooter's community understands that you dont have to play competitively, but if you choose to there are ups, downs, good teams, bad teams, teams that work to get better and overcome good teams, player improvement, etc, all the elements that make a competitive community, well, competitive.

    Re: New Team

I've always had the same mentality since I played against a few of GP's members and before I met anyone from the forums. "I can beat these guys." Get the 6 best players to ever play this game, create the best team possible, and I still think I can find or create a team capable of winning. I'm not saying I'm the best, or trying to sound cocky, but this game has so many crazy variables that I feel anybody could truly win.

It felt like target practice facing GP with the original **** line up during the first game. We realized that we were playing more of a "everyone is good, everyone go out and do good" sort of strategy and decided to play more of a "if all 6 of us don't play/push as a team we're just going to get stomped". The next game we held off GP to overtime even though the applied tons of pressure against us.

Our individual skill at the time was way below our counterparts on GP, but after a few scrims we learned the meta game as a team. We realized what classes best serve what rolls, which classes compliment each other the best, and where said classes can position themselves to best control the map. This greatly improved our individual skill level. Towards the end I wouldn't say our class counterparts weren't that far off. We had different playstyles but the skill was close.

Now that I think about it, I feel like finding some newer players, or pub all stars who are cocky. I don't expect them to do well in a competitive 6v6, but it's not like I did good on my first one either. Uber forums, find me some hungry warriors and I'll lead the hunt.

I wouldn't mind playing on a team full of noobs that are much worse than me. Hell, I played on destiny... sounds like the exact same thing.

    Re: New Team

    I meant early Destiny...

Our team was pretty bad before we made adjustments and basically I either went huge or we lost. Payne was still new from SR and I had never seen him play off support enough to move him to another class. Fear the Rifle had a sniper rifle that no one actually feared. Smokez was half retarded and half mentally disabled. Lurking took a LONG while to understand how to play assassin successfully.

Destiny after the 5 man tourney was completely different. In fact, I barely even consider them the same team. I realized payne was legit after I saw him actually play other classes (I've consistently said he's the most underrated player in MNC), chron could hit 1 sniper bullet a game and have been a step up from fear (though... he's slightly better than that, he get's like 2 or 3 a game while ON host), and Chaos is to this day the best gunner I've played against. Other than having no assassin and a support that we should have replaced, that team was beast.

That's why as soon as I joined you I was like yeah... we need to make some changes.
That statement just about made me pee myself.
I had the same opinion about him too... he's one of those people you have to play against to see how good he is.
Einarath is a really really good assassin... when he's sober... I'm sorry rest of the team never got to see the 3 days a year when he's sober.

    Re: New Team

I have always been up for competitive play and have never been discouraged from any loss(if anything I learn more from a close loss than a win). I am up for playing if needed, just moved over to playing bc2 since I figured this was dead now.

Certainly not afraid to play anyone, in fact I make it a point to play a few rounds every time I find myself against someone from here since I know it'll be challenging.

I guess I am not a top tier anything but if there's a spot I'm open to play anything but sniper or tank, really. Most folks here I've played against so I guess they can figure out where I would fit best if we can make a team or 3.

If there's interest I'll re open the team thread sticky too.
