Fake Player Counts?

I've joined 2 servers today that have said there were only one or two spots free from being full, but once joining I was the only one there lol.

Is this actually an option for servers or was it just a glitch on my end?

Should probably refresh more, lot of times everyone'll leave a server after a particularly taxing game.

I doubt this game has fake player counts yet, the player count is still not quite perfect though.
