So, we've had Imperial madmen, Religious Zealots and Omnicidal Psychopaths. Uh, Spacemarines, Adeptus Sororitas, and the Necrons Hmm, theme there. Anyway i have a suggestion for the fourth faction. It would be nice to have some brave, proud and loyal machines to counter all the nutters. I'm thinking like Keith Laumer's BOLO's. Almost machines with a soul. Capable of bravery, knowing sacrifice and even love. Who in many ways were better and more noble than the humans they served, despite being battleship-sized tanks. The few, the proud, the heavily armed. C'mon guys, let's have some Glory here. Not all of us want to sterilize all life. Some of us may still be loyal to the Progenitors, however misplaced that loyalty may be. It's not even about whether the Progenitors are even worthy of that loyalty. It's about what it says about us. Faction name suggestion: The Loyal. Or 'The Faithful' Leader name suggestion: Fides (Faith, pronounced fee-day) or 'Fidelitas' if you want a more latin-y sounding name. Faction logo: A ring. For a ring has no end, and neither do we. (Made of gears if you really want). So, waddaya think?
It's wierd, but the factions all seem to be crazy humans wearing robot suits. I figure: let's have some good crazy. "It does not matter that our creators are gone." "It does not matter that we barely remember them." "We fight for them. Because we are true." "For we are ever faithful." Semper Fidelis anyone?
Agreed. How are the factions going to influence the game at all? It isn't like Sins where the factions have different units... how is it going to be presented to the player.
Here is my suggestion and it actually fits right in with what you are suggesting. I originally came up with this one early in November. https://forums.uberent.com/threads/a-faction-suggestion-the-imperfect.53606/
