    When you sort YYMMDDHHMM alphabetically, you get a chronological sort. Oldest at one end, newest at the other. DDMMYY doesn't have that benefit.

    Or you can sort by...you know...date.

    Sort anything by anything by hand.

    DD/MM/YY you see the most significant number first while looking at something already ordered.
    The number that changes most often, and the number you use as a precision reference.
    The day.

    If you are sorting from scratch, you can always just look at the rightmost number first. It's not hard.

    Basically blind patriotism is an unhealthy practice but **** if we're not the mother ******* best at it. Get learned, other countries.
